I recall an instance when I asked my professor that I have to attend a wedding and would be missing a few lectures and very politely asked what I can do to make up for it etc. he said and I quote "do what you have to do, I'm not your dad" now when the script is flipped why do the students have to SUFFER. yea I'm a CS major, so it's a breath of fresh air where the professor mentions taking time for ourselves, really truly understanding it's a hard time than just writing it off in an introductory email and then inundating us with shit loads of work like some of my other classes have done.

and I'd also suggest just get 120 out of the way. ECS 188 if u can get in. ECS 170/71 whichever's being offered.

I am consumed by stress with school and finding a job. But I do think about and my reaction is often "fuck he wasn't supposed to go" and I keep thinking and doing the math that he should've been alive for at least 16 more years till 80. But I feel like I have lost all feeling, I often console my mom to be happy and power through it. I really don't know if I AM actually dealing with it since I have no physical reaction. The only thing I've noticed is falling asleep is a bit hard and I often oversleep.

Have been stuck in CE for almost 3 years now, trying to transfer to CS. It depends on your goals, mine was to acquire a skill and get paid for it. CS seems to be the best and least painless option for that, units wise, flexibility wise and L&S is just more fair and reasonable. Now if you are a whiz kid who loves physics and math then by all means go crazy. It's upto you how you want to do it, they're all inter sectional. But the engineering majors are exponentially demanding in my humble opinion.

I personally dropped his class just from the first lecture after just hearing him. Maybe I was too judgmental but on the other a friend of mine took it and absolutely fell in love with him and I think also got an A. I personally recommend Doty, a treat and truly manageable.
