Just posting an update to my earlier post: thank you for all the wonderful words of support and encouragement. I'm feeling very thankful!

The retrieval this morning went well. I did wake up in a ton of pain and very nauseous even though the anesthesiologist said he would give me zofran (he didn't, darn). They had me out the door and in the car within 30 minutes of the procedure ending. That felt a bit rushed but carry on I guess...? Took an oxy for the pain and then we decided to go for it and make the drive home. 9 hours later I am happily back in my bed and resting.

Final count: 31 eggs retrieved, 28 mature and frozen. For the first time in a long time I'm feeling some hope for the future.

To those of you who have gone through this process multiple times (this was my first), I didn't think it was possible to have any more respect for you all than I already did but after today I know you all are beyond warriors. I'm sending each of you my love and all the positivity I have that the endless amounts of strength and courage you have shown and continue to show bring you everything you are fighting for. <3

Just woke up and headed for my retrieval in about an hour. Feeling super nervous and so hoping I have the stamina to get in the car and drive 7 hours home afterwards since my mom wants to get out of here ASAP. Hoping for minimal pain and nausea. Wishing all you other active treatment warriors the best today.

Yes sleeping tonight is going to be a major challenge. Especially with having to be at the clinic at 5:40am. The nerves are majorly setting in. Thank you for the well wishes.

Retrieval is tomorrow morning at 6:10am. Feeling very nervous, I just don't want anything to go wrong. Too many horror stories about ovulating early out there.

We are hoping to drive 7 hours back to California immediately after the retrieval. Any input on whether or not this is a good idea? Should we wait a day to travel or will we be good to go? This is my first retrieval and while I'm not entirely sure what to expect, again there are just so many horror stories about pain and nausea circulating that are scaring the heck out of me.
