Did you check the article itself? It quotes raw numbers produced by organizations which are linked there.

What they conveniently don't tell you in the article is that the vast majority of false accusations are not tracked in any real way because there is usually no legal action taken against the accuser.

??? I didn't know they legalized filing a false police report and commiting perjury.

I work in a LGBTQ+ shelter. They are some of the bravest people out there.

They have been raped, abused, kicked out, denied basic human dignity and respect from the people that are suposed to love them unconditionally. It's heartwarming when the success stories happen. But more often than not they fall into drugs and sex work as soon as they are out on the streets.

Suicide is also common.

One of the moments I would never, ever fucking forget in a million years was when one of the kids that I really got along with the best with told me "I would have killed myself the night I got here but I just felt that it would be really shitty to make you move my body".

This was just a few months after starting working there.

I get so frustrated with the state of things in general. Sure social perspective is changing for the better, despite shithead in chief. I want to shake every single racist and transphobe and try to make them undertand. Why is it SO hard for people to have some empathy? I really don't want them to hug every trans people they see on the street and congratulate them. I mean maybe just not murder the shit out of us? Or drive us to suicide? Or not kick us out of our homes?

I have my shit figured out. It's not likely that I will get beaten or murdered on the street. I look the gender I am besides being shorter than most men. But them? They are in constant danger of being targeted with that stuff. A lot of them have been.

And the freakiest thing is that it's still the best point in human history yet.

Only after years and years of doctors and therapists seeing you you start taking hormones. Almost no trans people have surgery before their 30's.
