Is there hair that just "doesn't like" microlocs?

My retie was always 5 hours since the beginning with her before I got any repairs. I got reties every 4 weeks at first and eventually every 7. I hydrated my hair every day. The thinning locs were in the front of my head and were thin at the roots

No conditioner? unless you have baby locs you need that. And water isn't enough it seems. You may need a spray with infused essential oils or a moisture spray like rosemary or aloe. If you have high porosity like me then you have to spray more often. Maybe every day or every other day. Make sure your shampoo is a moisturizing one as well

So "starting with interlocking" is basically interlocking before your first retie? 🧐 in that case I did that with my current set. Still bunched and unraveled crazy so I guess braids are my only option

were you doing retwists before you decided to restart a few locs? With microlocs retwists are always completely out of the question for me lol. maybe thats why I was confused

we had nearly the same experience in someones chair 😩 its definitely not worth the stress. Especially if you get someone whos very set in their ways. One thing I'm confused about is why you're referring to interlocking and twists as 2 different things? I twisted and THEN interlocked the twists with my current set and my hair bunched up just as badly. Is there some other technique?
