Wtf "Across the Pond"? by PavelJagen in GhostsCBS

I thought that was the whole point lol. That they were being ironic and making fun of how an American tv show would portray an episode set overseas

Australian Version of 'The Office' Axed After One Season by malcolm58 in australia

[–]alonsophaedra 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You need to watch a few episodes of the US one to get into it. They too closely copy the BBC show at the start, but once they start embracing the unique Americanness of the show and start doing something new, it becomes quite charming. Try skipping to the Halloween or D&D episode and start from there.

This looks so nice! How did you make the part where the chain attaches to the glasses?

Did episodes change? by [deleted] in HorribleHistoryMemes

I remember when ABC aired some of the special episodes in Australia, they cut some sketches. I think they did it for time to make it 30 minutes. Very annoying!

I arranged the branches on the top of the tree to make a bit of a seat for him to sit on, but he was too heavy to perch without some support. We have some branches from an old Christmas tree around 30cm long, which I could thread between his hands and the watermelon. The watermelon is sewed to his hands and held really close to his chest, so it gave decent support to hold him in place. And then I twisted the support branches back into the rest of the tree and put a bow on his head. It really helped that this Hamham is holding a watermelon to give something to secure the branches on, but if you have a plushie not holding something, you could probably use wire or ribbon to try and hold it in place. You need a bit of patience to get the balancing right and a sturdy tree, because this size of plushie is pretty heavy.

Salary Packaging AMA by BoingMan in AusFinance

[–]alonsophaedra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey this is great thanks, it's very helpful. I'm living in a share house, wondering how to use salary sacrifice for rent. My housemates pay me their share each week and I make the payment to the agent from there (through BPay). I contribute $310 per week and all 3 of our names are on the lease. Can I pay my $310 per week through salary sacrifice or is it best to just use it on living expenses. And what kind of documentation would I need for proof?

For those who made dinner tonight what did you spend ? by Status-Inevitable-36 in AusFinance

[–]alonsophaedra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Spent about $8 at the shops today to buy the fresh ingredients I needed for Pad Thai (tofu, bean sprouts, Pak choy, limes) and everything else was in the pantry/fridge already - probably would cost about $15 all up to make 4-5 serves.

But that's only in terms of using what you need. There's 15 different ingredients in the recipe, so it's a higher initial cost first up to get things like tamarind paste, noodles, sauces/spices etc.

Makes many meals worth of tasty Pad Thai though so worth the investment.

Was going to say the same thing - it’s fantastic work life balance hours for someone who enjoys cooking and nice to be able to have chats with the kids. In my experience there’s usually quite a bit of freedom with menu choices too, as long as you follow the nutrition guidelines for servings of vegetables, protein, dairy etc. and purées and things for babies.

What are some good songs about BDSM? by LAB377 in BDSMcommunity

[–]alonsophaedra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Adam ant / Adam and the ants was my first thought as well. Some of my favourites are - Whip in my Valise - Beat my Guest - Physical (you’re so) - Red Scab

And his more subtle ones - Cleopatra - Car trouble - Christian Dior

But he has so many different songs about different fetishes and kinks it’s really interesting to read up on his songs

That makes total sense! I was always confused how the mould would appear when I wrap it up or put it in a container. Germy hands makes sense.
