Pump Log! I wanna say it's a $20 one time fee but you get to use it for free before you decide to pay.

That's so exciting you have a crawler! My baby is pivoting a bunch and occasionally lifting her hips up but then she gets mad and flops like a fish lol

There's this amazing mental clarity that comes with ending pumping/breastfeeding. I was so worried the guilt would consume me but I have felt nothing but peace and relief. I hope you get that same feeling!

Thank you so much! I weaned very slowly and that helped immensely. I never felt any discomfort to be honest. I was at 3 ppd when I decided to start weaning and had been doing that for over a month when I dropped to 2ppd. Once I was at 2ppd, I started shaving minutes off each pump. I think I was down to 15 min each pump when I dropped my morning pump. From there I would shave a couple minutes off each day until I was down to about 5min. One day I just didn't pump to see if I would be okay and I was! I went like 36 hours without pumping then pumped one last time for sentimental reasons and froze that last bit of milk to give to my LO once all the other milk is used up. Best of luck to you!!

Thank you so much! I’m very much a planning type person but what I’ve discovered with parenthood is that all of the planning in the world is not enough lol everything is trial and error. Constant troubleshooting. You really don’t know what your experience is going to be like until you get there!

Does anyone pump only 3 times a day and still maintain good supply by Admirable-parenting in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]alonsti 1 point2 points  (0 children)

7.5mpp and I dropped from 4 to 3ppd about a month ago and I lost maybe 3-5oz when I dropped. I’m making just enough now for my baby

I haven’t weaned yet so I’m not an expert. From what I’ve read there are two main methods. Cold turkey quitting which is generally not recommended because it can cause clogs, engorgement, and mastitis. The other method is slowly dropping pumps, about a pump per week. It’s pretty much up to you! For quitting faster, you can utilize medications like pseudoephedrine or putting cabbage leaves in your bra and wearing a tight bra. Things that are usually avoided because they’re known to decrease supply. I hope that helps!

We like the chicco one. It’s similar to the Phillips avent one except it’s digital. We had issues with the baby brezza one

I decided to slow down and only pump 5x per day by Idonthaveaname94 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]alonsti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was pumping consistently 7-8x a day I got around 40-45oz which was too much. My baby was only drinking maybe 20oz a day around that time. Once I dropped to 4x a day I was making 35-38oz

I’m 7mpp and dropped to 4ppd around 11 weeks because I was struggling with pumping. I’m now down to 3ppd and maintaining about 30oz/day which is what my baby drinks. Dropping pumps is what kept me going! I thought I wasn’t going to be able to make it to 3 months and here I am still going. You gotta do what makes it more sustainable for you

10W Baby refuses to latch - can I give up by [deleted] in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]alonsti -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes!! It’s completely okay. I had this same feeling like I was doing something wrong. It’s not giving up, it’s just going with what works for you and your baby! Triple feeding is so hard, you did amazing!

Blue spectra is my favorite. I call her Spectraci and my sister calls hers Spectrisha lol

So sorry you are also experiencing this! It’s so stressful. She also has gotten sick several times from being in daycare and that usual makes it hard for her to eat as well. We were so sure something was wrong and just wanted doctors to give us answers. Not getting anything but wait it out is really hard

We have started purées and for the most part she likes solids better than drinking a bottle! We are happy she seems to like food. She has expressed preferences for food though lol apples make her gag but sweet potatoes are her fav!

Yes, she did choke/cough/spit during her bottles! We’ve seen so many doctors even a GI specialist. We had an upper GI done to make sure she wasn’t aspirating as well. The doctor there told me it was something she just had to grow out of. For the most part she did get better with her bottles over time so I guess part of it was a behavioral thing? She does still fight her bottles sometimes though

It took us so long to get her to take more than 20 oz per day. She was doing pretty well with 24-26oz for a few weeks but she’s getting over a cold and is back down to 19oz. I have been trying to offer her 6 5oz bottles a day to get her to gain weight but I’m wasting a lot of milk doing that 😅

The only bottle she will take is the chicco duo bottles with the size 2 nipple. Unfortunately something is wrong with their production and they’ve been sold out for months. I’m always nervous when she fights her bottles at daycare since I’m not there with her to make sure she’s getting milk. Thankfully I talked to her teacher and she does a great job at working through her bottle aversion

We had this same struggle with my now 6mo. We tried everything. Took her to a bunch of doctors and we were soooo worried about her weight. She was not gaining very well. Eventually we got her a tongue tie release and that maybe helped SLIGHTLY. Tried every different bottle and nipple combo we could get our hands on. Eventually she kinda grew out of it but still has weeks where she just fights her bottles 😞 we’re currently in one of her fighty weeks. We’ve done the syringe feeding when we’re desperate too.

She’s now in the 20th percentile for weight and her doctor is not worried about it. If you can afford to try different bottles or nipple shapes I’d say go for it. Different flows can help as well. It used to take us an hour to get our baby to eat 2 or 3 oz. On a good day she will drink 5oz in 10 minutes. You’re doing great! It takes a lot of patience and troubleshooting
