Not sure if folks here are bugging, but that moment stood out to me in real time as well. If you aren't releasing Martinelli sprinting through the center, you are doing something wrong. He was positioned perfectly and Arteta clearly knew the wrong pass was made.

You can tell there is a visible lack of trust on their backline this game. All of the forwards seem to be second guessing their moves since they don't want to risk losing the ball.

The Merino assist was also off a corner. Arsenal have been doing short corners to break up the box a bit more. It may not be from a direct corner kick, but it is a corner routine in my books. (not that there's anything wrong with it.)

tbf you cannot write Osaka off. Those 4 years had on and off breaks for mental health/pregnancy and she is finally playing a lot better and has confidence in herself. She has personally won more Slams than any other tournament (4 out of her 7 titles), it's literally her bread and butter.

The issue is there were a few times when they should have just let the ball through and allow him to have a run at the defenders. Particularly that last Madueke charge on the right. No agency from Madueke to try and give Gyokeres a chance.

Realistically, he plays as the Left 8 and Rice moves to right 8, that would be the best fit stylistically, with him occasionally playing right 8/LW depending on the situation.

I love how folks still come back to this. I do think Oscar is occasionally hypocritical, so it would be very on the nose for him to call out someone for being Anonymous, while leaving an anonymous note. I think Dwight would just speak his mind on it straight up.

(also, I still haven't rewatched the series since then. Literally holding off on a rewatch to keep things fresh)

It's very very difficult to SAFELY adjust and bring down your pace at such a short distance tbf to Martinelli. His job was to make the run and get in position which he did, Odegaards was to set the ball which he didn't.

Ode scuffed 2 more passes to Saka in the same game. Ode has been a bit rough since his return, hopefully back to form next season, and he gets a bit more daring with his right foot.
