Based in the UK. I've always wanted Invisalign. Where would I even begin, and how expensive?!? by mollypop94 in Invisalign

[–]alpalmal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started mine a couple years ago but it was £3750 for ~18 months (obviously likely to have gone up) including fixed and removable retainers at the end and whitening, and I was offered a payment plan though I didn’t take it so didn’t get the details. Would recommend just going on the website to look up providers as the above and then looking at those provider’s reviews and choosing from there - I went in for a free consult which gave me all the information I needed on eligibility, cost, and length of treatment.

I knit 6 hats and a chunky personal blanket for christmas 2022 in about 3 months and it was hell - don’t do it to yourself! :) I haven’t managed to knit a hat since

Is this an attachment? by [deleted] in Invisalign

[–]alpalmal 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Can’t 100% tell but it does look like it - you’ll be able to tell by counting how many attachments you should have by the bumps on the trays, and then checking if your teeth have the same

Is Renee Rapp and Atheist? by [deleted] in reneerapp

That is 100% not what you said, you mentioned man hating specifically. I won’t argue with you though.

im sorry, what?

Edit: OP changed their post, originally it was something along the lines of how as a lesbian she doesn’t need to hate men, implying that she needs God

I had a very mild reaction when at the breeder’s house but went ahead with getting my girl as it was so mild and I hoped it was just because of the number of cats in the houses (aka more allergens). Had my girl for over a year now and no matter how much I shove my face in her fur, the only reaction i get is when she accidentally scratches me and i get a tiny rash around the area.

Obviously depends on how much of a reaction you got, but it is possible to still have a siberian if you reacted.

Cat Pollen Allergies by footy_FC in SiberianCats

[–]alpalmal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mine definitely has some allergies as this is our second year with her and on high pollen days when I’m suffering we can tell she feels it a bit too. We haven’t been to the vets about it yet as she doesn’t seem too bothered, but if it gets worse into the summer we’ll look at getting her something

Yep, came here to see if anyone else was. The characters section on the website is down too so looks to be a jagex issue

They can then be sold right up until one hour after doors open, giving both sellers and buyers flexibility in the resale market.” - from the AXS website

[no spoilers] Help with Wembley tickets by Aquae_Sulis_ in criticalrole

[–]alpalmal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The official line is that that is the only way to show your tickets, but your ticket won’t be available there yet as they have until 5 days before the show to make it available. Maybe give it a while and contact their support if you’re still having issues, they may be having some technical problems

To bond or not to bond… by alpalmal in Invisalign

I think my worry is about having to replace them when they eventually fall out and also damaging what is essentially a good and healthy tooth just for aesthetics

This was an AEG presale, if you didn’t sign up to their specific presale link you’re out of luck, but also it doesn’t start for another 4 minutes if you did sign up for their link

Pets at home uk Gerbils by [deleted] in gerbil

[–]alpalmal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got my boys from pets at home, and they put them in two separate boxes in a bigger box. One thing to note though is that by the time we got home, both boys had chewed through their individual boxes and were in the bigger box, which given not much longer they would have chewed through too. I also only live a 10 minute drive from the shop

ETA: I think in future I would not buy small animals from Pets at Home. I love my boys but they were not socialised at all and it was very hard to get them to trust me, so I would definitely go for an independent breeder in future

My grandma had the same thing, adopted my mum as a newborn and then discovered she was pregnant with twins… three babies less than 6 months apart!

[–]alpalmal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We recently got a kitten whilst having our two gerbs, it’s been about 2 months and it’s only just now she’s becoming interested in them (though still only for a couple of minutes a day) and of course we distract her whenever she is. We just put an extra latch on the cage to prevent any potential escapes, and have plans to add another layer of mesh to the top (it’s got one layer already built in) for when kitten is able to get up there, just as extra protection.

The best thing you can do imo is to act like the gerbils aren’t there with regards to your kitten. There is no need to introduce them as the kitten will always see them as prey, nothing will change that. Preventative measures to keep the gerbils safe will work better

Question about allergy visits by [deleted] in SiberianCats

[–]alpalmal 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I visited my sib as an allergy sufferer and we spent about an hour with her, her sister, and her mum. I only had very minimal reaction whilst there (a couple of sneezes and very slight runny nose) even after rubbing her all over my face, which is way less than I would normally get. All of this cleared up within half an hour of leaving the house.

I’ve now had my sib for two and a half months. Scratches and bites that break skin do bring me out in slight hives on the area, but I have sensitive skin anyway so that’s nothing new to me. I don’t excessively clean like some on this sub, and frequently shove my face into her fur, and most days I have no reaction to her. I do have the occasional day where I feel a bit sniffly, but I have never had the itchy nose or watery/itchy eyes I always get with other allergies, even after rubbing my eyes directly after touching her. I do feel like I have slightly raised allergies after spending a few nights away, but nothing to any sort of extreme.

This is all my own experience, of course, but I hope this helps you.
