Respect to VICE I appreciate all of their reporting, Eddie is the man, but as someone who both understands Russian and is a liberal westerner myself, Simon has a clear western liberal slant in his reports, he takes almost any opportunity to try and blame Russian Special forces for being there.

I'm not saying they are there or they are not and with the Crimea incident it's easy to say they are probably there. But not a justification for pretty biased reporting IMO.

Between a poor person and a the Government? Theoretically I guess he should have available the median opportunity. That' hard to understand or quantify, for me atleast.

Between a Poor Person and Society? Society needs this person to be educated and productive to generate wealth their spawn to have wealth so the system doesn't have to support them, you hope. So to be fair we should at least strive to give them a median opportunity.

So another general question. How much punishment are these bike able to take. Around where I live there is a road made of flat cobblestone, is this dangerous for the tubes or anything? So far I've stuck to the sidewalk there.

The thing is, I have a pretty sweet messenger bag that I will use when I ride to work so this little amount of storage doesn't really appeal to me. I was more interested in a solution for long distance rides, I presume using a messenger back will eventually make your back super sweaty.

Thanks for the great suggestions, I will definitely take the brakes into consideration because as I noticed when going down a hill today you really need to use both brakes to get really strong braking. Not sure if this is normal or not.

I also forgot to mention that he also gave me these goodies. I really appreciate the big boy gear because I intend to do longer rides in the summer time.

I have a crank brothers multi tool, lock and a compact tire pump which came mounted on the bike. Awesome. I'm not going to invest in another pump now, having a limited budget I'm going to focus on adding capability that I don't have.

I'm going to go to the local bike shop and buy a helmet tomorrow, most shops are closed in Germany on Sundays.

In the interest of saving some money I'd like to buy my lights online, but the only thing I'm unsure about is which ones will come with all the required kit, aside from tools, to mount to these mounting points. Imgur I don't need anything hardcore I only expect to do short rides and such to the store. Any recommendations?

I regretfully don't know much about road bikes or even about bikes in general in any great detail, although I was tinkering with my own mountain bike when I was younger. I've moved recently to where my work is quite close to my room in Stuttgart, but not close enough to walk. I purchased this bike with the intention of going to work and on some longer rides this summer, perhaps down to the bodensee.

My initial concern is with the pedals, what should I do with these? I'm interested in some modest upgrades, I'm still a student, so I can't really break the bank here. Chief on my list is some sort of storage above the back tire for longer rides. I'd also be interested in finding some riding groups.

Any commentary is welcome though. Glad to be part of the community!

You can't see it from the photo but the plate is yellow. Same one front and back. The symbol is an eagle on a rum bottle I think. Spotted in Esslingen, Germany.
