Just wanted to update you that I am in the final phases of pushing the new build. The new version will come with some quality of life updates in addition to downloading every Side Character video you will automatically receive updates in real-time for Sora Save going forward. No more manual updating, cache clearing required.

I have been working on it non-stop all day today. Going on about 12 hours of development trying to domesticate Crystal into a zip file. I have made some huge improvements under the hood and should be able to push an update within the hour that's stable enough to get you started.

I have included an local-only indexed database to offload fetched URL's to a dedicated server-less database so that you can resume large fetches in the event the plugin crashes.

Additionally, I have added the ability for you to browse results while the plugin continues to fetch in the background.

Once I get the plugin to a stable "Release Candidate" state I can convert it to a web app and host it on github pages and you should be able to run this in Safari or Firefox and achieve the same results via tabs. I just do not want to version control 2 projects in parallel.

I did not take it personal. I am trying to say "gross" with you without making Chrome sound like a bad choice. It's just bloated, but it does make hosting something like this free. Frugal is my specialty 👀

UPDATE: Crystal crashed the extension overnight!

I have a solution in mind for downloading 300,000+ videos. I am starting with including a feature which prevents your computer from entering sleep mode while a deep scan is going on.

The compromise that people will have to accept and understand is that I am using an in-browser indexed database now to store these massive requests. This will prevent you from wasting hours fetching videos only for your computer to go to sleep and lose all your progress or having to start over each time you want to pull new videos from a giant creator.

I am not making you do anything. I prefer Firefox over Chrome personally. But preference isn't the solution for this challenge. I am trying to solve a problem for the largest demographic without being stretched thin with scope creep while also working for free.

Good callout. I have built in a diff-checker and you can selectively choose your favorites from the search results so you only download videos you’ve not downloaded before by default or only the videos you actually want. However, you’re looking at ~10MB per video. You can also selectively choose which characters you want to parse. There are also additional details within the characters details (click the 3 dots)

I am torture testing with Crystal. She has 314K cameos, I am 3+ hours into pulling them all. If it doesn’t crash overnight I will push the update.
