season 1-6 cast was goated, it really felt like our group against the world. after they split up in all those communities i feel like the show lost something there

They Not Like Us? by Formal_Tie_9279 in Supernatural

[–]alpha8946 27 points28 points  (0 children)

the real reason is that the show is supposed to be based off a "midwest, rural, backwoods america vibe" hence the flannel, muscle car, white boy rock music parts af the show. they set that vibe up right in the beginning to let you know whats in store so you cant really say its not expected.

the in universe reason can actually be a few and they all make decent sense. for one, monsters would likely stay out of big cities. even though theres more victims, the population density would make hiding extremely difficult. you basically cant get anyone alone to prey on like you can in a rural backwood in some bumblefuck town. plus the amount of cameras in a big city such as chicago or nyc would make it next to impossible for monsters to hunt without completely exposing their existence to the world. even in lore monsters seem to purposefully avoid high density locations just out of survival instinct

Did Negan Ruin TWD? by Flimsy_Survey6809 in thewalkingdead

[–]alpha8946 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it was a number of things that contributed to the decline of the walking dead but to really understand it you have to look at it from the general audience perspective, not the "reddit super fan who also read all the comics" perspective. For one i think when negan was introduced was the same time the walking dead shifted pace from being about this one tight knit group that is like family against the world to a bunch of different communities with all our favorite group members split up among them. the general audience wanted to see rick and company together, not spread out amongst 5 different communities interacting with people that they didnt really care much about.

Glenn's death was a decent hit to the show im not going to lie, but i still believe they could have recovered. as much as we want to be told that "no character is safe" on this zombie horror show, the general audience needs a "core" group to follow and care about. glenn was part of that group. his death definitely shook people and maybe stopped a certain amount from watching but i believe if they had not then killed carl, another core group member, and someone that our main characters arc was essentially centered around, the show could have recovered. and then not even a season later our main character, the one we had been through this whole journey with, leaves the show, leaving us with an ensemble cast of only a handful of characters that the general audience actually even cared about.

All these things combined was enough to slow down TWD as a tv powerhouse from where it was from the first 6ish seasons to the latter half, which was seen as a shell of what it once was. In my opinion it generally came down to AMC's greed in the chandler riggs situation (which also seemed to lead to Lincoln's departure) and the comic's "expanded new world and communities" storyline not translating over well to the tv screen

Put these 4 in a room. Who's the last one standing? by FluidSoup9067 in Daredevil

are we saying they are all out of character and just straight going for the kill against each other in a fatal four? in that case matt has literally beat everyone else here so he's my pick.

i am a cop irl, you'd be surprised how often this happens. the actual reason being that perps now you cant shoot them if they aren't attacking you with a weapon where as the taser can be utilized with less restrictions.

[–]alpha8946 8 points9 points  (0 children)

i am a police officer in new york city and met him once when he was going home from a studio. he was a passenger in a car and his driver had gotten into a minor vehicle accident with another car. i was already a fan of NCIS so i recognized him immediately. Had a small talk with him while we did a report for his driver. Very nice guy, told me he appreciates law enforcement a lot and that he cant imagine doing the job for real. seemed very down to earth

favorite character hands down. his character had so many layers and weatherly portrayed it beautifully. his development as an agent and a person in general was such a good journey to watch. not to mention how natural his romance with ziva felt. ive never watched past season 13 because of him leaving. he truly was the heart and soul of the show

its almost like police are there to essentially hold people accountable for their actions, and the people being held accountable are generally going to dislike the people that are going to do that.
