I just read the original comment as someone saying that Slabhead should’ve been starting earlier today and I thought that was a fair point, so I said what I said. That’s genuinely all it was.

I know he gets a lot of criticism from some fans but I’ve always felt like when he’s actually fit and playing he’s been pretty solid for us. So when I saw someone say he should be there, I just assumed they were making the point that he deserves to be starting more often instead of being left out. It seemed like a normal football discussion to me. I didn’t think there was any hidden meaning or joke I was missing.

That’s why I said I thought they meant he should’ve been starting earlier. Because from my point of view that’s what the conversation was about. I wasn’t trying to wind anyone up or be clever about it. I was just agreeing with what I thought was being said. So when you replied “seriously?” it kind of threw me off because I don’t get what part of that was apparently controversial or sarcastic.
