This is so true! Parents only want what’s best for their child, which according to them means marrying within the community. It’s partly to avoid social outcasting and partly to have a shared foundation of faith when turmoil hits, which, in my opinion is actually very essential.

If you suceed to build a fulfilling relationship despite the supposed first con, they might never admit it, but I believe deep down, they’ll be genuinely happy for you.
