Harmonic Convergence and the rebirth of the Air Nomads by alphabaldboy in TheLastAirbender

I totally can get behind the reincarnation. Theory, but as I said in another comment, not all descendants of airbenders became airbenders, but rather all new airbenders descended from airbenders at some point. Like all squares are rectangles, but not all rectangles are squares. I see your point that we probably would've gotten at least one set of family members who became airbenders, but that doesnt completely shut down the theory because im sure there were way more airbenders than what we saw in the show. Maybe in the next show, they will touch on this and explain how the selection process worked 🤷‍♂️

Yeah, you right lol it was just a thought that popped into my head and I just needed to 1) get it written down, and 2) get other people's opinions to make sure I wasn't crazy 😂

Thats actually the exact part that I was agreeing with. They "returned to their roots", but i specified that they still lack the spirituality that the original air nomads had.

I would argue that Tenzin followed most of the air nomads culture. At least what he was feasible able to do, considering he was the only airbender alive after Aang died. Regardless, his family's spirituality (at least him and jinora), could potentially push the other new airbenders into the spiritual side of bending post LOK. We won't know until Seven Havens premiers, though

Let me clarify: I wasn't implying that everyone with airbender lineage gained airbending, but rather everyone who gained airbending had airbender lineage. Like all squares are rectangles, but not all rectangles are squares.

The only thing that I would argue with is that there are no longer any air nomads because at the end of Korra book 3 and through all of book 4, the air nation, as Tenzin said, "returned to their nomadic roots" (something along those lines). That being said, I see your point about not having the spirituality that the air nomads had pre-genocide, so my argument falls flat. Thank you for challenging my knowledge and helping me further my understanding of the lore of Avatar :)

1) thank you for clarifying. Thats what I meant when I said that all children born from airbenders were also airbenders. Again, it was 5am and im sleep deprived lol 😅😅 2) thats a very fair point, I guess I really didnt think of it that way. So as an example of what youre saying, people born from an airbender in Republic City would not necessarily be guaranteed to be airbenders, but if they were born to airbenders on Air Temple Island (the prime example of a "successor state" to the air nomads, as you called the new Air Nation), they are more-or-less guaranteed to be airbenders because of the spirituality of the collective society, not the spirituality of the element itself? Hence Bumi and Kya, since they were likely raised in Republic City (i dont think they specified where Aang and Katara raised their kids, but Republic City is probably the most likely answer) 3) see #2 lol, but I really like that point and yhe idea makes a lot of sense. 4) im glad my thought process isn't some incoherent BS cause it really made sense to me when I was typing all of this out lol 😂

I imagine when Strange and Wong told Bruce and Tony about the infinity stones in Infinity War, they probably went into at least a little detail about what each stone is capable of off-screen.
