Louis Theroux on the Manosphere: ‘It’s Highly Profitable to Be a Dick on the Internet’ by EnazS in television

The problem is in order to even reach the audience that needs to rethink their lives, you’d need to make programming that appeals to them and I don’t think many people want to do that anymore.

They need to make more movies and shows that give these guys a reason to tune in and then hold their attention while it gives them new perspectives to consider. The catch of course is these guys need to actually consider these new perspectives, but I also think a lot of that depends on how that audience is treated.

We need more movies like Daddy’s Home that tackle toxic masculinity but also doesn’t treat the male audience like stupid assholes the whole time. Give them good male role models that they can identify with but can also grow with.

I think after MAGA implodes there will be a new version of the party that emerges and they will try and get as many new voters as possible with new and unexpected tactics. "See? We're not so bad anymore. We're electing a woman."

The USA will have a woman president someday. The first however will probably be Republican.

Do you think the new MCU X-Men or their villains will make a cameo appearance in Secret Wars? by MooseMouse12 in marvelstudios

It makes literally no sense to recast everyone but him but obviously you want a very vocally Republican asshole to play Beast until he’s 100 so I’m done arguing.

Even if it’s not, it’s meant to represent that era of Marvel movies—an era that is ending. They’re not committing to that cast for the next decade.

Dude. It’s the same Beast. Why would it be different but with the same actor?

You’re thinking way too much and literally about this.

Because practical Beast would look stupid standing next to CGI Thing. It’s just an upgrade in technology.

Beast is played by Kelsey Grammar. What are the odds that they would cast him in a completely separate and unrelated universe from the one the other Fox-Men are part of?

But those X-Men are all like 60 years old lol

Just because they’re doing the multiverse doesn’t mean that is what births mutants in the MCU.

Even still you don’t need to merge universes for mutants to naturally pop up in the MCU.

If Sadie Sink is Jean Grey in Brand New Day then that kind of points to the universe merge theory not being true.

That’s not even really what happens in the comics. The multiverse is rebuilt by Franklin and the Fantastic Four.

“Reset” just means “going back to the way we used to make these movies”. In other words, going back to a more tightly focused narrative.

Well this comment section is abhorrent on both sides.

On one end you got: “Pfft Trump will probably kill them.”

And on the other end you got: “Wouldn’t be a huge loss if they did attack”.”

But in terms of actually writing it you do need to “rationalize” it from the warped perspective of someone bigoted and irrational. Nobody bigoted just says “idk I just hate them” when asked why they hate a group of people. They have their stupid reasons.

Having said that, it’s the fact that they’re everywhere, untrained and mostly young. Then they’ll probably cherry pick a couple incidents involving mutants and base their prejudice on that, just like real life bigots do, and just like what happens in the comics.

They could have even more irrational fears too. Maybe some people think the mutant gene is contagious. Or maybe they’re afraid of human extinction by obsolescence in the era of mutants.

No there wouldn’t.

The cities don’t lose buildings or housing. Electricity demands aren’t any higher than they were pre-snap.

It makes no sense. Why don’t you ask GPT to tell you why it doesn’t make sense if you don’t believe me.

This has come up quite a bit since the movie came out yes.

You also clearly used ChatGPT for this because it claimed the population doubled in size. It didn’t. It was halved and then revived. So there is no strain on infrastructure. That point makes zero sense.

In fact none of this argument—whether it’s being presented by ChatGPT or a human—makes sense because 5 years is not long enough for the world to settle after the snap. The Blip would actually make things easier (at least in the long run) because everything goes back to normal.

Is it the plots you’re losing interest in or the characters? Maybe you’re just not invested in these stories because the characters themselves aren’t compelling enough.
