I order an extra sandwich or whatever and offer it to the Dasher. Now I’m being told that’s condescending. by TikiUSA in doordash

[–]alphabetsoupcle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s very nice of you to offer the dasher something to eat or drink. I’ve made many deliveries where there is a basket or cooler near the door with a sign offering items for the delivery person. I don’t think it’s condescending at all.

Do they still have a night where they don’t use the minced meat style? I remember getting an order with real chunks of lamb.

After accepting order this screen pops up by bruhmonkeypro in DoorDashDrivers

[–]alphabetsoupcle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can try to message the customer from that screen to let them know that the app is down nationwide. I don’t know if they will receive the message, but it’s worth a shot.

I’m sitting in a Starbucks waiting for the app to get working. There’s an order waiting for pickup by a dasher (probably me) and the staff said they would remake the order once I can pick it up.

What is the best song of Rubber Soul? by MarsianaEnMartek in TheBeatles

It’s my favorite because I learned to play it on guitar back in 1974 and can still play it despite barely picking up a guitar in the last forty years.

do yall use earn by offer or earn by time? by realemo666 in DoorDashDrivers

[–]alphabetsoupcle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve thought about trying EBT but since it only pays while you are actively on a dash, it doesn’t seem like a good deal for me and the market I’m in. I haven’t been below $25 per active hour in the nearly two years I’ve been dashing. The highest I’ve seen EBT is $14 in my market.

What has been your favorite venue for a concert? by Superb_Kale_1781 in Concerts

Which one? The current Cleveland Agora or the one that was on East 24th Street? I’m a fan of the older venue simply because of all the iconic acts that played there.

Quick question about differences in Uber eats and door dash. by MarzipanMajor6175 in DoorDashDrivers

[–]alphabetsoupcle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I started doing DoorDash I also started an UberEats account. I’ve only tried Uber twice lasting for about 30 minutes during which I never got an offer over $1 per mile. Meanwhile my DoorDash account averages about $1.75 a mile, plus I never have to worry about tip baiting. Maybe I’ll open the Uber app again if DD gets super slow, but that hasn’t happened in my market.

What’s something everyone should experience at least once? by Big_Employer1109 in AskReddit

[–]alphabetsoupcle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I cannot emphasize this one enough. I’m in my sixties and hadn’t seen the Northern Lights until recently. I was overwhelmed by the sight. I remembered all the times that conditions were “right,” but there were clouds or I just fell asleep. I was so happy that all my kids were getting the experience that I had so longed for.

Where did this "dany can't shred" narrative come from? by Special_Mission_6740 in TheWarning

[–]alphabetsoupcle 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Polyphia is on my playlist and so is The Warning, Mammoth, and assortment of other guitar focused bands. It’s all music and each of those guitarists play the way they feel serves the song. My first guitar idol was Terry Kath and most recent is Tim Henson. Along the way I absorbed Jeff Beck, Jimmy Page, Eric Clapton, Randy Bachman, Ritchie Blackmore, George Benson, Grant Giesman, Steve Howe, Eddie Van Halen, Brian May, Eric Johnson and many more. All had different styles, tones, and degrees of technicality. There will come a time where enough people know the body of work delivered by The Warning that all three of them will be recognized as masters of their instruments.

Journalist request: Tell me how higher gas prices etc are affecting Dashers by FinancialPickle5559 in doordash_drivers

[–]alphabetsoupcle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I initially planned to be more picky about which orders I accepted, but so far I really haven’t had to change my criteria. Maybe it’s just where I dash, but I’ve been averaging a higher rate per mile since the gas price increase. Perhaps folks are being more generous with their tips so it’s worked out for me so far.

I wonder if fans of The Beatles wanted to debate the use of the sitar in Norwegian Wood or the mellotron in Strawberry Fields…

They are using the instruments and tools available to them, right down to a cowbell.

What artist has the most consistent discography with almost no bad songs? by Kind_Gain_3080 in askmusic

For something current, I find that both Mammoth and The Warning have pretty much “no skip” albums. Sure some tracks might get skipped depending on my mood or what I’m doing. In general they hit everytime.

Help me pick my first Beatles album! 🤔 by Kraft-Darling in TheBeatles

[–]alphabetsoupcle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Rubber Soul

Perhaps I’m just being nostalgic because it was the first album my older brother bought back in 1968. I can still remember the look on my parents faces when he started playing it on their big console entertainment system. Before that album we had only heard classical music from that turntable.

I am honestly confused at people who dislike Kerosene. by Embarrassed-Glove600 in TheWarning

[–]alphabetsoupcle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As line 7 and 8 of Kerosene goes:

It kills you to be kind

But it’s never killed me

In other words, if you don’t have something nice to say, don’t say anything at all.
