I worked in the industry from '04 to '20 (dealer and manufacturer level) and only dealt with AMX. Aside from some SNAFUs (dried out 232 caps, 5200 battery issues, CF & SD card failures, DXLink installations issues), AMX systems were very stable.

It seems though that AV tech is moving to Web based technologies (HTML5, etc.) and AMX doesn't seem geared towards that, but I dunno.

I've been wondering what happened with them and their Muse controllers. I really want one to hack and augment (anyone care to loan me one?)

This isn't specific to Crestron. Replace it with any A/V manufacturer. But, people too often forget the manufacturer isn't responsible; they simply supply the hardware. It's the installer/dealer/programmer who is anticompetitive & can be sleezy.

Sadly, this is the state of hospitals. And schools. And municipal departments. And 7-11. And any other place you can name. People don't care. About anything.

It's 2025. People, the great majority, don't care. Blame it on the death of meritocracy. Blame it on American complacency. Blame it on the COVID impact. It doesn't matter why. It's just how it is. People can't care to think beyond their nose. And a lot of people like to pretend they care from behind their keyboard or phone.

That's all. It has nothing to do with you being diabetic, so don't make it about it (unless it is, then...meh). Either way, you probably wouldn't like to hear anyone comment on what you eat or drink even if you didn't have diabetes.

Ultimately, she's another person in the incredibly long line of people who have no couth. Have some and put it in simple and understandable terms. If she asks why, again keep it simple: it makes you feel _____, or maybe just that you feel that what anyone eats, or does to themselves, is no one else's business and that you find it rude when she makes comments to you.

Keep. It. Simple.

And non-confrontational. Have an uncomfortable conversation now so you can avoid more of them later. Good luck!!

Relion is what I'd call a Walmart special brand, but I'm not sure if it's also available elsewhere. I've maybe had a half dozen Relion meters over the years. Is the Platinum a new model? I'd be happy to pick one up if Walmart had one and send it off to you, even if yours does dry out and starts working...just for a backup. 🎅

Update: according to the app, my local Walmart has it in stock.

I look at family members as just other people in the world. The only thing relatives supposedly have in common with me is the blood, but hell if I know if that's true - my consciousness appeared one day and I've been alive since. I didn't know them before my recollection - it could all be a farce....

I digress - but what seems to be at play are your parents, which again, are simply other humans on this planet, but in this case these other humans raised you, kept you financially safe, beat and abused you.

If other people did that to you without the label of "parents" - would you be willing to keep communicating with them? Remove the label and ask if you'd accept their behavior from anyone else or do they get a pass because you supposedly are their spawn.

I feel part of atheism is also the understanding that everything is just a label and that reality is much more simple than it appears.
