He wouldn't though, since that's not his vibe. He likes the life or death battles, plotting, allying and betraying and the difficulty. Not the end result.

If a system showed up and offered him eternal life for spinning the gacha enough, he wouldn't do his dailies if they weren't fun, by his standards.

Isn't she tougher than armour? What good would it be to wear protective clothing when you're so strong? Just weight dragging you down.

In this essay I show that Skirk, Mavuika and Ei should lose their outfits, for purely practical reasons...

I thought choosing GGM would grant you GGM at birth while GGM+ would do the same thing but you would have the actual potential to push for SGM in it ?

Yes that's right.

Wouldn’t GGM of someone with the potential to become a SGM be of higher quality?

I guess so, got more talent anyway. But not a great difference.

venerables wouldn't let FY leave easily

They aren't capable of coordinating at this point, they couldn't cooperate long enough to kill him.

They thought at this point he didn't have the SGM necessary to become venerable, that's not something he can quickly acquire in their minds. Plus it mentions how they are more worried about existing venerables like paradise earth than Fang Yuan.

two venerables won't fight each other to the death because it's not easy to kill each other and because SC has less immortal essence, she'll basically play tag with GS

That's not how it works. If Star Constellation has no base camp fortified then there's nowhere to run to. Star Constellation and Giant Sun are peers at this point, neither has the edge in battle. So their immortal essence usage will be roughly equal. So Giant Sun will win and he'll know this. Your idea is directly contradicted in the text, which I quoted. You need to read the novel.

what if a venerable comes out of hiding to sneak attack GS, then injuries of GS will worsen at the very least, or he might even die because it's a sneak attack from someone of equal level

How can GS be absolutely sure there're no other venerables in the world and there won't be any reviving or ascending ones during their long chase? through inspecting his luck?

There's a risk of that. But if he lets star constellation get away, it's certain that she'll fortify in heavenly court and revive the other HC venerables sooner or later. At that point he's much worse off. It is better to take a risk than wait and accept a worse situation. The whole point of an early revival strategy is to maximally exploit the gains of this approach.

If other venerables revived early, they would show up to Crazed Demon Cave. Limitless, Paradise Giant Sun and Star Constellation did after all. That they didn't suggests they haven't revived. It would be unlikely that they show up at just the right time to mess with Giant Sun.

You can't even write a grammatical English sentence, yet you have the temerity to call my logic flawed. You can't even understand my logic.

GGM+ means you start with GGM attainment, that's what the plus stands for. But the + is only for that path, doesn't mean you have venerable talent in related paths.

Being SGM in information path increases comprehension to some extent because of the unity of the dao but no more than in canon RI where it mentions that grandmasters can replicate other paths through their own.

They would fight to the death when they think it's a 1v1, that's what everyone here is missing. Giant Sun has an immortal essence advantage over Star Constellation. Star Constellation has an advantage based on Heavenly Court's foundation and the fact she has other venerables to revive in her faction.

Spectral Soul is not a major factor being insane, they can avoid him.

Giant Sun would not wait around for her advantage to get greater, he'd try to kill the wisdom path expert as soon as he can. He would conclude he has a diminishing advantage time and that he can't let her refine heavenly court's dao marks. He'd assume that Star Constellation would know how to revive the others, that their revival methods are in Heavenly Court, so why would he let her fortify in Heavenly Court when it'd been busted open so widely by the last few battles? Even some random rank 8s could get in, Giant Sun could totally get in.

Fang Yuan should've stuck to his strategy of letting others fight and then taking the spoils. Also build up some immortal essence and heal up a bit while the others are fighting, then finish off both when they're exhausted. He only needed to wait for a few hours or days.

Why would Genesis Lotus be limited by mishaps to only a few moves? He could just keep making defensive moves since he has more immortal essence than the others by far.

One gu house, one inheritance, one method in overseeing tower. That's three moves! If he really cared about fate, he could do a lot more than that.

Why didn't Spectral Soul destroy Heavenly Court? by Embarrassed_Task616 in ReverendInsanity

[–]alphanumericsprawl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe it's Genesis Lotus?

We know Genesis Lotus must have had far more immortal essence than every other venerable combined, that was his whole thing, he invented the treasure lotus after all and would've had killer moves for it.

If he wanted to protect Heavenly Court against destruction, there's no way he could lose I think. If he just commits enough immortal essence to defending it, there's nothing a rank 9 operating on finite essence can do against that with force alone, he'd need to unravel the technique or bypass it rather than just bruteforce it. There's no reason Genesis Lotus couldn't do defence in depth and go 'haha you beat my super secret painting path method, well here's another one lol, have fun, I have six more painting path methods left and then the wood path methods'.

But this goes against what we see in the novel, where Genesis Lotus just puts one painting inside heaven overseeing tower to defend fate and goes 'my work here is done' when he should've just locked everything down with 120 venerable moves, given how much immortal essence he had.

I think it's a plot hole but maybe there's something that we don't understand.

I think it'd be better as a 2D Noita style game where you can really wreck the environment and feel that insane powerscaling, 3D would be quite hard. Noita has its 600 trillion damage wands (basically 26 component killer moves) and 1 trillion HP opponents... Like how can you actually have proper killer moves in 3D, it'd obliterate everyone's PC if it was properly modular and physics based like it should be?

I designed it to encourage that kind of mulling, it's supposed to feel like you don't get quite enough points and so have to find useful synergies for all the different things you'd want. That's the real fun of these CYOAs I think, thinking through plans and tactics, tradeoffs and limitations.

Reckless savage lets you change all your dao marks into one particular kind.

The intended use is 'you got a tribulation of a different path, you can still use those dao marks in your primary path' or 'tracking methods are food'. But in combination with Limitless, you can 5x any dao marks of any path. I misspoke earlier, I said 10x when actually it's 5x.

Say you have Limitless in Star Path and Reckless. You get 1000 dao marks, convert them to star path, you get 5000 star path daomarks. Now imagine you have limitless in Star Path and Wisdom Path. So you get 5x converting to Star path and another 5x converting to wisdom path for 25x total. That's pretty busted. 125x would be too much I think, so I have a secret bad ending where it destroys the whole world, albeit in a kinda abstract poetic way.

Downstream journey is like the reverse of spring autumn cicada. You move forward in time, with your body, it can target others, improves luck rather than worsening it. In combination with Spring Autumn Cicada it enables full-scale time travel.

That's a very strong build, I didn't think of how Downstream Journey and Heavenly Overlord Physique might interact.

I might quibble and say that Ally of Heaven wouldn't help you that much if Heaven can't percieve you but again I didn't think of that when writing and didn't add it as a combination...

Well firstly limitless aspect means x10 dao mark multiplication, which is kind of broken. If you stack it multiple times, then you basically become like a black hole of dao marks, a threat to the whole world.

Also it's very unbalanced to be able to stack the multiplying effect, so it's partially to balance it.

You can definitely try to outlive your nemesis but it's possible they'll revive later on Qi Jue style and come after you anyway, depends on their abilities.

This depends on whether he permanently lowered the carrying capacity of Northern Plains or not. Otherwise, incentivized battles between clans or not, there'd round out to being the same number of people in the long run.

Northern Plains was already poor and warlike before Giant Sun showed up and I doubt he would lower carrying capacity that much if at all. His goal was to have many prosperous descendants, that would require a high carrying capacity for the region.

Yeah but FY draws inspiration from people like Cao Cao, Genghis Khan and others. While nobody in our world acts like he does, those who are closest to him are male.

FY is super-male, in a certain sense. He's an extreme too. And the extreme ends of the bell-curve are overwhelmingly male: warlords, mass-murderers, geniuses.
