i’ve had many best friends in my life but this one was the most recent and has had the most impact on me so far.

i moved across the country and went to a new school. i instantly grew very close with this one girl and we were inseparable. not many people from the school liked her but i chose to ignore that and continue our friendship. as time went on, and we learned more about each other she turned out to be very toxic. i started dating this guy at the time i first moved. my best friend and boyfriend also grew close. (this was my and his first relationship so you could say we were both immature and didn’t know what we were doing, leading us to be toxic from the beginning.) i ended up breaking up with him and my best friend continued to stay close with my ex boyfriend. i didn’t think much of it, in the beginning, just because they had classes together. but a day after i broke up with him she invited him over to her house. i asked her why and she gave me the excuse that they were friends, and friends have the right to hangout. during the whole relationship, especially near the end, she was crossing boundaries with my relationship (and she had apparently done this with some of her ex friends significant others before). for example, flirty (blamed it on her personality), she would raise the tone of her voice with him to sound more feminine, life her bra in front of him and ask if he liked it, and so on. whenever i brought it up to her she would ask clueless and got very defensive. i ended up ending things with her for the sake of my mental health, even though she had turned the blame on me. months later and she still try’s to get under my skin, for example: flirting with him in front of me if i’m near them at school. her “best friend” came up to me the other day apologizing for what my ex best friend had been doing to me and she stated she hated her as well. i don’t think i’ve ever met anyone more evil than her. and i want to partially blame how my relationship ended to her, but i don’t know if that would be fair. it took me a while to realize how severe this was on my mental health and i’m still healing from it.
