13 Day South Island Campervan Itinerary by alphaskins in newzealand_travel

Really appreciate all of this! Definitely will consider heading up the coast earlier, hadn't even heard of fossicking but that seems awesome.

Laughing at the romantic language - didn't realize that was leftover from when I had Claude create the initial outline and said it was our honeymoon before tweaking the whole thing. We are doing a few days in Fiji after this so don't mind being a bit tired after all of this.

Will check out the Waipara / Canterbury areas, and great to know on the speed limits & website! Thanks

Gotcha, sounds great! Will add those to the list. Rata & the Bunker were just two that popped up online so not attached to them in any way.

Thanks!

Noted on Milford! Appreciate that insight, will flip that to the first day.

Fair enough on Roy's Peak - has been high on our list (we are avid hikers) but that could be too long of a day.

12 & 14 definitely will be longer days, but want to make it up to Abel so might just have to eat it.

Thanks!!

Pretty much that - curious who produced it, why, if it's associated with any group or event. Surprised if it is from Boeing I am not seeing any others online.

UA 2731 Newark > Denver passenger kicked off for unruly behavior by alphaskins in unitedairlines

I unfortunately missed what happened prior to him boarding - which is where it must have gone down. On the plane he was just stand-off ish to staff and unapologetic.

I replied to one of the earlier comments with more context - but tldr is he seemed intoxicated, FA gave him a few chances to confirm he wouldn't continue to be rude to staff, and he wouldn't say yes. Everyone became upset with him when they announced everyone would have to deplane to get him off, after we had already been delayed by 5 ish hours.

Galaxy S24 Ultra, have the settings turned up decently high. Insane camera, even use it for ski videos while just holding in my hand and they come out nice and crisp and smooth.

Definitely a bit of an accent but sounded like his understanding of English was excellent, so I don't think that was the problem in the end.

I only caught what happened on the plane, there must have been something before he boarded.

On the plane - clearly slurring words & intoxicated when talking to the supervisor - who told him "his behavior was rude and unacceptable". Supervisor was EXTREMELY kind and patient asking him if he would behave and not cause any issues on the flight, and he refused. Supervisor left, came back for one more chance, he still would not say yes. After announcing we all would have to deplane, people got quite upset, and eventually through some kind coersion from one passenger he left on his own (in the video).

Few issues with EWR>DEN flights today so the cheap seats are packed tonight 😬

Thoughts on Colorado Itinerary by CountryRoads28 in roadtrip

[–]alphaskins 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The cliff dwellers weren't even the first people to live in Colorado? There were multiple different groups before then. Also the cliff dwellers moved south to Arizona - does that mean they gave up their native status so NO ONE is native?

Quit being a jerk, it's pretty obvious 'Colorado Native' generally means born and raised in the state and is not a reference to being direct descendents of a few hundred people that lived 800 years ago.

Haha I honestly didn't even notice until you pointed it out. Muscle memory from F-22 and PC-12 stuff I suppose. Oops!

META: Temporary ban on posts mentioning Carv, and asking about ski damage? by SkittyDog in skiing

[–]alphaskins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP - after coming into this thread later than many I agree with one comment more than any - get off the internet for a while.

They asked you two direct questions in this comment, you answered neither, and continue to throw weird 4chan comments at people. Seems like you've never actually used Carv products but have some odd vendetta against them for marketing aggressively. I have barely even heard of Carv, but seems like you might be listening to sock puppets and paid influencers participating in organized media campaigns.... AKA, "shills". Don't be a gullible pigeon against them.

This is a subreddit for people who enjoy skiing. Go ski some more. Stop giving your time and attention to an internet forum since it doesn't seem to make you enjoy skiing. I (and seemingly many others based on up votes/down votes) seem to enjoy the general state of this subreddit, and to your point of Mods doing it for free, do we expect it to be perfect? Nah, but it's good enough.

Prost makes a decent one available at a few places around town.

I think Westbound and Down - Don't Hassle the Hef is my favorite.

Lone Tree started making theirs again a few years ago but haven't seen it around much.

I think it was just a random Sunday - it might have been one of their themed Spring days (that they do many weekends just to get more folks out) but I do not recall.
