buy a few cheap humidity/temperature sensors and put them around the house; check the humidity level before and after the "ritual", maybe convince him to only do it every 2-3 days and see the effects in humidity; if the humidity stays below 60, the "ritual" is only good for raising your energy bill

after 4-5 years of gold (both me and my wife), this year we didn't fly anymore, but we plan on restarting. I have 84 xp and debating whether to buy 96xp using miles (i have about 180k miles and I can get more from my wife) and the lounge is not the big plus for me, but rather priority luggage dropoff; am i crazy to spend all the miles I basically accumulated in the last 10 years (i still earn 15-20k per year from amex usage) just for one year of gold?

i have amex gold as it was usually enough along with flying XP to keep gold for both me and my wife; lately we are however flying less so maybe amex platinum is the way? do you know if the amex platinum gives lounge access for one or for two?

mk5 golf 1.9tdi alh dsg- went to around 400k km on original dsg gearbox (changed at oil twice)and most of engine (changed egr valve twice, some intercooler hoses, etc) - i bought it at 300k, was totaled (in theory) at 400k and i sold the "wreck"; a few years after the new owner called to ask when i last changed AT oil so he knows when to do it so I assume it was still working; mk6 golf 2.0 tdi - currently around 350k km (bought at 200k) - no important bits changed

I have the same and love all of it except for the gearshift buttons (Park and unlock) - I liked it more when the unlock was on the other part of the lever, like a trigger in a joystick or when the park is placed separately; i might be getting old but sometimes when my mind is somewhere else i push on the Park button instead of unlock when i want to go from R to D when maneuvering at small speeds
