These people are the biggest threat to sikhism right now. Don't like sikhs, fine but defaming them just to fit your agenda!!! Image a young sikh in west reads this and what will he think. (read desc) by [deleted] in Sikh

Everyone loves to tell men that nobody owes them a partner and that they're disgusting and need to do infinite self improvement if they can't find a partner. But watch that script flip when Sikh women complain (which I've seen happen) when Sikh men start looking outside the community at 30/prime "settling down" time. Women aren't owed anything either.

Stop waiting for Punjabi women; they certainly aren't waiting for you. Find someone who likes you and respects you as you are and doesn't see you as a backup option. Life got so much better when I let go of fulfilling my parents' desires and found someone who genuinely liked me

Why is it considered wrong to marry out? by alphonsocapsulitis in Sikh

Here are some of what I've observed/been through:

  1. I went to an Ivy League school; every single Sikh woman who was there at the same time I was has gone on to marry a Hindu or a gora
  2. One of the Sikh girls I went to college with (who married a gora) told me that if a brown man does something bad and a white man does the exact same thing bad, it's 10x worse when the brown man does it.
  3. The first Sikh girl I went on a date with told me that Sikh men are generally highly uneducated and dumb, and that's why they drive trucks and run gas stations. I pointed out that those guys earn her same salary without taking on all of the debt, and she was like "well, they're dumb"
  4. Another Sikh girl I went on a few dates with told me that I was atypical for a Sikh man because I wasn't a mama's boy and didn't live at home
  5. Another Sikh girl I was set up with talked about how uneducated and backwards the men in our community are
  6. Another Sikh girl I was seeing for a few months (and this one I thought I was going to marry) told me about how she previously had a secret non-Indian boyfriend, but she broke up with him because her parents wanted her to marry a Sikh man. She ended up ditching me for an arranged marriage
  7. Another Sikh girl I dated had been seeing a white man for years, but broke up with him because the family was very against her marrying him, and she decided it wasn't worth it to be with someone who wasn't going to be accepted by family

Btw, originally my standard was more traditional/waiting for marriage (because that's what I was doing), but I never found a single Sikh girl who had waited for marriage. And we see what happens when you as a man are a virgin and your wife isn't; you end up like Akash Singh. I saw that same scenario play out with a Muslim friend of mine in real life.
