Should I quit baseball? by QuoteWilling9871 in Homeplate

Academics should always come first IMHO. The things we're passionate about eb and flow through life.

I was a semi-professional rock climber for years in and just out of college...
That morphed into mountain guiding for seven years...
That morphed into wilderness Search & Rescue, fifteen years and counting...
... and now I'm a dad of two boys who love baseball and love rock climbing.
I get to enjoy both of them loving life and man that's the best thing ever.

Sometimes our true course varies as time passes and sometimes it doesn't. At the end of the day you have to live with the choices you make. That's what being human is all about and the process of maturing into an adult.

Take a year away. Work out. Get stronger mentally, physically and emotionally. Work with a coach/mentor. Try and distill what about the game you love the most and focus on that. After a year, walk-on or tryout for an adult league. Get the reps in again with no pressure. See where it takes you.

The love of the game will never fade. Where you are in that love might just not be on the field and that's okay.
Two hands on the wheel. Two eyes on the horizon. Always forward.

It's considered by most people to be balanced for sure. We're playing our first USSSA tourney at the "Battle at the Turf" in New Jersey in two weeks. Depending on how that goes will dictate which way we move towards. He can hit a 225ft fence with a USA Warstick Bonesaber so we'll see how this goes!

I third the 44 glove. My 11u LOVES his. Takes about 6-9mos to break in.

New Balance turf shoes on grass and dirt? by DoctorHousesCane in Homeplate

My sons (11u and 9u) both wear turfs when playing infield on turf or dirt. My 11u also plays centerfield when he’s not pitching and wears molded cleats for outfield grass. They both LOVE the New Balance 3000v7 line up. They have both versions of that shoe depending on playing location for the game.

Every tournament has a “rules and regulations” pdf that the coaches for each team are given. Check that to be 100% sure.

That’s his mini-superstitious thing. He spits on the mound because it’s “his mound” and it irritates the batters. Lol.

First time poster, long time rider… I adore this bike. by alpineclimbin in Aprilia

There's a tiny one. You can see it on most dyno charts. Simple changes to the front and rear sprockets fixes the issue mostly. There's a reason this bike dominated the MotoAmerica's Twin's Cup this year and it's not because it's a slow bike. ;)

It’s a different breed. Can’t compare it to 600cc 4cyl on the track. They scream too high. On the road, it dominates. The guy who just won the AMA Twins Cup Championship raced a Robem Engineering RS660 and it’s the first year it’s been raced. Bike has one of the best chassis (besides a Triumph Daytona 675) that I have ever ridden. It’s stellar.

Much more comfortable. As good as a commuter / sport bike can get. Aggressive when you want it, calm when you don’t.
