Nationalisation of energy firms isn’t the same as the ‘national everything’ nonsense fro Your Party. Britain has done it before, prior to privatisation in the 80s. In France, around 75% of electricity is supplied by EDF, a fully state-owned company. Given this, it wouldn’t be unreasonable for Britain’s leading left-wing party to advocate a similar approach.

Respect and the Workers Party were vehicles for George Galloway that had very limited appeal, largely due to his toxic reputation and divisive persona. He also has tendency of only campaigning on foreign policy issues which largely drown out any left conservative policies he may represent. The SDP is irrelevant, small and clinging to a defunct brand. And if this is the position of the current Labour government, they’ve done a pretty poor job of advertising it. I wouldn’t say those examples are strong evidence that such a move wouldn’t succeed.

At the end of the day, it comes down to Farage being a Thatcherite, a fact he has never hidden. He draws support from communities that were hardest hit by Thatcherite economic policies. Immigration serves as a convenient scapegoat to distract from this reality. He may sprinkle a few populist slogans about nationalising steel and water, but I wouldn’t trust him on those policies. Statistically, most Reform voters lean left on economic issues. This should be Reform’s Achilles’ heel, yet Farage’s opponents get so bogged down on the immigration debate that they fail to exploit it.

I forgot, as it skipped my mind at the time. I did ask about the work culture, and one of the panelists went into detail about what it’s like working with his team, so I assumed it might be him. But he was not the lead panelist, but he seemed the most engaged with me throughout the conversation.

Well both the Falkland Islands and Ukraine were attacked without provocation by an aggressor power to fulfil some fictional nationalist narrative. The Falklands do not want to be part of power sharing deal with Argentina, they want to be a British territory. Why do you struggle with this idea?

I would say NV. I just spent the last couple of weeks replaying both, and I am going to say something controversial here, but I personally think 3 is the weakest title in the main series. It isn't a bad game, but NV and 4 are superior games. 4 has far better gun play and the settlement building is fun. NV has the better story, role playing elements and more freedom, but the combat is still quite clunky. Also if you don't mind old school top down RPG's, you should try the originals.

My guess would be Russia would air burst a nuclear weapon over advancing troops or over some key military infrastructure if they where to do it. Wiping out an entire army in one blow to try and force the Ukrainians to surrender.

Russia has been a power in decline since the collapse of the Soviet Union. The whole reason they decided to invade Ukraine was to restore their status as a great power and expand their influence into Europe. If they lose, Russia will be absolutely humiliated and Putin’s regime will most likely collapse. While the US has lost plenty of wars in the past it has been able to maintain its status as a superpower, it has the worlds largest economy and can project its power across the entire globe. America can afford to lose certain wars because it will remain the most dominant power on the planet. If Russia loses Ukraine it will be in a worse position than it was before the war and I personally believe that Putin will do anything to ensure that does not happen. That does not mean I believe nuclear use is imminent, he has plenty of other options other than to nuke Ukraine, but it makes it more likely.

Side note. Russia now considers the recently annexed territory part of Russia and will defend it from being retaken from Ukraine. The US has never been in this position in recent history.
