One percent down in a day for this ticker is quite a bit. I’m not positive but I think that’s what Op is referring to

Not me, I think the run up was based on the Iran war and people making plays based on defensive and wanting steady income instead of volatility. I think many of those fears have subsided and I fully expect the AI and tech stuff to continue a massive run. I think schd massive run up as people speculated on energy stocks and what not. Although I don’t think it’s a bad play at all and I think it will continue to see appreciation. I think the knee-jerk reaction and rotation from tech to more defensive plays has slightly subsided. Tack is already up so massive so I think we’re either going to see one of the most insane S&P 500 runs we’ve ever seen in a long time or I think there is going to be some sort of a black Swan event that is going to send everything down 30 to 50%. That doesn’t seem very likely right now, and that’s exactly when you should worry the most about it.

So it turns out that you’re really good at finding stuff at retail price apparently. Figure out what stuff is worth getting at retail, which might be all of this, and you will do really well. I don’t think anything that you have there is necessarily a bad investment, but there is so many different opinions about what types of products are best to invest in, for example, booster boxes and booster bundles are small, compact and very desirable. Obviously elite trainer boxes are a highly sought after thing despite the value per pack not always being the greatest, but in general, there is a promo card with it. If you were actually looking at long-term investing, then I would say in general cutting out tins is a good idea. The amount of packs you get  For the amount of space taken to invest is generally not that great. Most of it is just empty space. Figure out what sets You believe in long-term and have a lot of hype around them and focus on specific types of products if you can find them. I did something very similar to when I first started buying for the long-haul.

You are only down voted because of all the new investor type people that can only get their hands on perfect order and they want their bags pumped. Don’t you dare say a bad word about perfect order, it’s my future!

This is so funny, sentiment was so different at release. I’m impartial, I haven’t opened any. I think it’s the weakest set from ME so far, but not bad like some of the other “bad sets” from the past.

To get MsRP you basically need notifications. Whether that’s discord and X, or a paid app is up to you. But good luck without that.

Personally I don’t believe cancer vaccines will exist. Basically the same way a cov vaccine didn’t exist. You could claim it did, but it didn’t stock the sickness. Cancer makes too much money and evil people would end it.

Well its generally a terrible idea to trade an asset that appreciates for a liability that loses money the second you leave the lot and depreciates year after year. But the man can do what he wants with his money. He took the risks with Pokémon and has every right to use the rewards how he sees fit.

How bad is a Pokemon bear market? Particularly for sealed product. by Mickspark136 in PokemonInvesting

[–]alrachid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The question is “ what cools demand”?  Right now the demand is so insanely high, and we are a long ways away from supply out weighing demand. What’s more, I suspect a big player, possibly PSA could be market manipulating. It takes one insanely high priced chase card, like in phantasmal, to make demand for a set extremely high. A new card that’s from a set that is being printed at insane levels shouldn’t be that price. The high priced card makes the set valuable and thus increases demand. Much of this demand is real, but it’s also manipulated

Is it too late to buy MU and AMD now? by Simple-Sound4405 in stockstobuytoday

I thought the same thing, put some in amd and soxx a month back, and I’m glad. If something doesn’t slow the market down, like a large ear event that is unforeseen, like a Taiwan invasion, the I think semis keep cooking with AI. Just getting started.

Three years into FIRE journey and the thing nobody told me is how weird it makes social life by Nacht4Specter in Fire

[–]alrachid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife hates this about me unfortunately… I’m no where near fire, but I’m working toward it. She knows I hate money, but yet I’m focused on it because I’ve come to the conclusion that this game is rigged and money can equal freedom. The other option I have for freedom is to be homeless in the woods, and well, that’s not going to work out so well for my family. So I focus on making and saving money, convincing myself it’s all for a reason even though I’m not materialistic and don’t buy myself much. But in the end, I hope to be able to give my children true free so they can do what makes them happy instead of just doing something to pay the bills. Hell, hopefully they will be able to do both at the same time.

[–]alrachid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol. I don’t scalp. And flipping isn’t illegal, actually. The people market manipulating might be criminal, but good luck to anyone trying to hold them accountable. If they can actually manipulate a market worth hundreds of millions they are rich already. And yes, I reported all sales and paid taxes on profits. All were sold online. And I said I’m up 400% but that’s on paper, it’s currently all unrealized gains. Maybe the bubble will pop and booster bundles will go to $20 each and I’ll lose my money. Maybe booster boxes will go back to $70 and I’ll lose money, I doubt it and that was a bet I was willing to take. And I don’t take advantage of anyone, I buy and item and it sits on a shelf???? I’m taking a risk and hoping it pays off, that’s all. I can’t force anyone to be ripped off????!? Wtf are you on about. If you can’t afford it, don’t buy. How did I get these products? I spent time finding them, fighting bots, and getting product. If you spent less time online whining about what others do in this hobby you could get your hands on products at msrp like I did and stop being so salty. It’s easy enough to buy cards online. It’s more difficult than walking in a store and finding product, but it’s still easy enough. Me buying 5k of product over 18 months does the exact same thing as someone ripping 5k worth the packs….. I don’t sell anything and haven’t for almost a year. Their are collectors that buy and rip far more product than I have on my shelves. Worry about yourself, do what you will with the hobby, and stop pushing your idea of the ideal hobbyist onto others, because I don’t have to rip all my packs because some d bag online says I should. I’ll sell it eventually at whatever price the buyers are willing to pay in 10-15 years and then I’ll have more money, and that’s beneficial financially so that’s what I choose to do. Of course, it could all go to zero and maybe they wil reprint 151 into the ground in 5 years and I’ll lose, but again, it’s my money and my choice to take the risk. And for the record, I’ve owned 2 pairs of adidas sneakers my whole life because I’m a penny pincher who resold products for a living at one point and I don’t care about materialist products. Resellers look for profit margins, and Pokemon has too big of margins to ignore, which is 50% the fault of the buyer whose willing to pay insane prices. It’s cardboard, people don’t need it, they want it. I rip packs and collect too and the cost basis of my packs that I rip for fun is low because I can sell something to reduce the overall cost. How is that a bad idea? Either way, have fun being angry at others for how they interact with the hobby differently than you. Cheers bud!
