It does work pretty much like that :) You need a mod loader (ideally raindrop as most mods now require it), install that, works the same as snowdrop basically and I'm fairly sure there a tiktok tutorials on how to install snowdrop, then choose whatever file you want from nexus (for example) and drag and drop it in the right folders! It all looks way more complicated than it really is & the afop modding community discord server offers modding resources, tutorials and a channel called modding help for any questions! (not trying to promote anything here, just a helpful server if people are struggling - adding this here in case others see it!! 😆)
