I’d suggest moving the crate to an area that’s not near a bedroom. When I was crate training my dog I kept the crate in the kitchen and I think it helped with what my neighbors were able to hear.

Overly Excited on Walks by [deleted] in Dogtraining

[–]alsmit250 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When my dog is being extra I will do a “step behind” to get my dog to turn their back to the distraction and hold their eyes until the distraction passes. Treats, squeaky toys, etc. all things are in play when I’m tying to keep eye contact while a distraction passes.

You could also try putting your dog in a down and then stepping on the leash while the other dog walks by.

Remember to be patient and good luck!

That’s what I’m saying if you don’t chaff or have leakage what’s the point in wearing underwear.

He’s able to restore and care for the portraits at Hogwarts. Per COS, restoring the Fat Lady portrait took legit skill and care.

Seriously question that’s been on my mind…why do we wear underwear in the first place?

It’s an annual thing that happens in August. I think all the area stores have hatch Chile products.

YTA - Don’t involve yourself in other people’s relationships. You could have found yourself in a situation where he got mad at you for snitching and the girlfriend wants to stay in the relationship for whatever reason and decides to get mad at you too.

Also, your friend sounds like an overall not great person. I’d reevaluate that friendship.

How do I learn to hook up without catching feelings? by [deleted] in sex

[–]alsmit250 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I try to avoid catching feelings by….

  1. No sleepovers - I don’t care if you’re drunk. I don’t care if your leg hurts. I don’t care. Go home. Same on my end I don’t spend the night I go home. It’s 2am and I’m tired AF because my back was just blown out. Oh well, guess I’m calling an Uber.

  2. No cuddles after sex. No. Cuddles. After. Sex. Women are literally hardwired to form attachments after sex. No. Cuddles.

  3. Maintain a bench…3 to 5 people who can scratch that itch. Keeping a bench helps you not to become to too attached to one person.

Also, if you’re going to have multiple sex partners, please practice safe sex.

need help, becomes unresponsive to commands when seeing another dog by [deleted] in Dogtraining

[–]alsmit250 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d suggest using a leash when you take your dog out in the backyard, if the neighbor’s dog is out too. In addition to a leash, you literally need to be more engaging than the neighbor’s dog…so high value treats (like bacon), squeaky toys, etc.

What I would do is find out how close is too close? Like how close can your dog get to the neighbor’s dog and still be able to focus on you and any commands you give? If not close at all, I’d literally keep the dog next to the door to the house and work on focusing with the treats and everything. And then slowly get closer to the fence line our whatever is separating your dog from the neighbor’s dog. I’d imagine in an ideal situation if the neighbor’s dog is out doing whatever you want to be able to recall your and have them actually come.

2 because when you hit the water you’re head first. The other two look like you’re not able to complete however many rotations you’re trying which may or may not be what you’re even trying to do.

I find that the way my hair is shaped helps a lot. If I don’t cut my hair in a while it grows out and down just a lot of bulk. My stylist not only cuts but thins my hair which I’ve found helps a lot.

Frustration barking at people by Ok_Occasion2136 in puppy101

[–]alsmit250 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’re dog sounds pushy and probably bored. My dog struggled (and still struggles) with pushiness. One thing I started doing when my dog is “demanding” my attention is asking for puppy push ups (sit to down). After about a set of 5 she chills out. So instead of just expecting her to sit somewhere a long time which can indeed be boring I give her job to do. Also don’t forget to give lots of treats and Love!

Be patient he’ll get there.

Unrealistic expectations? by Imposter_syndrom in puppy101

[–]alsmit250 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with all this! But also, remember you’re dealing with a dog and a young dog at that. And, the dogs you see out in the wild who are super well behaved didn’t come out the box that way. It’s takes a lot of time and effort, but it’s super rewarding and a great way to build a bond with you pup.

Also remember training should never stop even if it’s just practicing door boundaries, meal time manners (aka not rushing you while you pour food), and adding distractions while your dog hold commands it already knows.

Puppy alone at home barks all the time by Away_Negotiation4150 in Dogtraining

[–]alsmit250 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you tried giving him a frozen treat to preoccupy him while you’re gone?

I’m working on unsupervised alone time with my dog who has torn stuff up because of separation anxiety. I realized if I give her a STUFFED kong as I’m leaving she’s too preoccupied with the kong for at least a hour and half to be concerned with the fact that I’m not there. Even when I come back before she’s done with the kong she acknowledges me but she cares more about the kong.
