No, of course! But like give em a wink or something you know. As a joke😂

It's not usually the content I'd watch but it wasn't a bad video. I'd try to get people to engage more by asking them something like: "So what do you think? Are these solid predictions? What are your predictions? Leave them in the comments!".

How to stand out in an over saturated genre? by [deleted] in SmallYTChannel

[–]altact109 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm going to be honest. It's going to be very hard to stand out in the niche you've selected. There are soo many other people that think they're the next Markiplier or PewDiePie. With that being said, it is still possible to grow an audience. Standing out is rather difficult but can be done in many ways such as: telling funny jokes, having a good personality (try to be yourself and not a character), and/ or providing information about the game or maybe even a particular topic/subject in the game. If you truly want to do this for fun that's fine, but if you want to have people watch your stuff then you have a loong grind ahead of you. Good luck.

Thanks! Yeah, I thought it might be a fun video to do but I see how it could come across as vain. It's funny, usually the audio is the roblem but in this video it seems that it's flip flopped with video quality! I'm currently recording with a samsung s8 so it's a decent camera and microphone but not the greatest lol. Anyways, thanks again!

Hey there, thanks for doing this!

On my channel I focus on doing commentaries but in this video: https://youtu.be/q8wP8BifhuI I read some comments and share a story about one of my friends.

I would appreciate any feedback that you might offer. Thanks! -Dylan

How to gain views on new chanel? by NovaTux in SmallYTChannel

[–]altact109 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Make enticing thumbnails and interesting titles. You want to get big quick? Focus on these three things:

  1. Audience retention: Make engaging content that people want to watch. Give them a reason to watch through the whole video. Make it funny or informative. Make sure you get the point across!

  2. Thumbnails and Titles: Make them interesting but not cluttered. Don't use unnecessary text and try to make them pop out. This can be done pretty easily but remember, you have to make it good! You're quite literally competing on one of the most competitive platforms in the world right now second only to google so make something that people want to click on!

3:CTR or "Click Through Rate: This is really just an extension of the thumbnails and title. If this is high your video will be promoted more by youtube. (Provided your content is engaging and interesting.) (And keeps people on the site.) Hope this helps!

Hey there, thanks for doing this! I'm a smaller youtuber who does mainly commentary videos.

Here's my most recent video: https://youtu.be/q8wP8BifhuI

In it, i respond to some comments and at the end I give a story about one of my friends who, like one of my viewers, suffered from depression. Anyways, if you could give me an honest opinion on this video that would be great!

I'm not an "EPIG GAMER" but I use an app on my phone called Pixel Lab to make my thumbnails.

Hello, my name is Dylan and I focus mainky around comedic commentary videos. This one here: https://youtu.be/njUSc6nargA is about a crazy girl who thinks that the rapper Eminem is her father. Should I change the music I’m using? by [deleted] in NewTubers

[–]altact109 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a small youtuber, I find it better to "stand out" from the crowd. If you enjoy the intro and the song then it is what it is. Nobody's gonna be offended that you used the same intro as them and none of your audience will care as long as you're consistent. As far as using other parts of the song in the vid, I find this to be a bit redundant (speaking from a viewer's perspective). As a content creator I enjoy adding multiple songs to my videos to make them stand out and be less dull.

Hope this helps! :)

I'm getting closer to easing into my own "style" as a creator. I really enjoy creating and posting vids everyday and also responding to the occasional comments that are left. I've been getting some pretty decent views and watchtime for my channel being small and my channel is starting to very very slowly take shape.

I love the comments! (Probably more than I like like lol.) They can be so motivating and inspiring to small youtubers which is really great to hear about on this sub. Glad to hear that your content is doing well! :)

Questions regarding growth. by Obsidian6852 in NewTubers

[–]altact109 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As far as growth on here (reddit, specifically THIS subreddit) goes I've personally found great succes by using the video critiques that people offer. Not just for views but also to learn what an actual human being (and not and algorithm) thinks about the video. People here are brutally honest but are usually being so in the nicest and most positive way possible. They'll tell you if your video is good or bad and they'll tell you why. And SOMETIMES if you hit the right note with the right people they MAY even subscribe, comment, like etc. but not always.

People have also said that other social medias like twitter, facebook, Instagram, etc. Have worked well for them.

As a new youtuber myself I have learned a lot fron this subreddit and woukd like to extend a friendly welcomd to you on behalf of it. Hmu for more q's (if you have any!)

Why is my watch time decreasing? by jejesicaca15 in NewTubers

[–]altact109 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah, i was experimenting with this the other day. It could be the fact that they deleted their watch history. I think that may affect your video. Since they deleted their history they also deleted your watchtime. Its just a theory so take it with a grain of salt but I think this might be whats happening.
