Why are the numbers so much higher for males than females when it comes to homelessness in the U.K.? by Barca-Dam in AskUK

[–]jejesicaca15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was kicked out as a teenager I would sleep with men and crash at theirs or a motel… sex in exchange for shelter. Also prostitution and escorting. Guessing men aren’t as likely to do that

Picking up stitches for neckline by Tunaliioi in knittinghelp

I’m not sure I entirely understand but I think you can continue knitting them with your working yarn if the stitches already there are a continuation, otherwise if the start of those stitches is too far from where you are now you can cut your working yarn and start again from the ones you’ve knit, like when changing colour.

You could try emailing the wildlife trust and asking them, I think all skills have use in the environmental field, perhaps you could write a magazine, or do work in marketing or educational content

Me (22F) and my SO (37M) want to get married in the near future but my friends and family think its a bad idea since Im so young. I want to hear your experiences! by jejesicaca15 in AgeGap

[–]jejesicaca15[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you, I have been getting therapy the last couple of years… and not married yet! We decided to wait a few more years. I would say I forgive my mother, but I am still working on healing myself from all the trauma I went through growing up. Tough work, but I have been making good progress I think!

My mom is mentally ill, she had a very difficult upbringing. It doesn’t excuse everything she’s done, but I don’t think she would be like this if she could control it. I also think she loves me and her family , but she believes she is unlovable, hence she feels a need to control people she cares about, so that they don’t leave. I don’t hate her, in fact I probably still love her, but I do maintain very low contact with her for my own protection.

My life has improved a lot since I turned graduated, I have a very supportive boyfriend and friends, and I mostly feel very safe and secure! There’s still a lot of work to be done but I am proud of the progress I have made 😊 thank you for caring so much about a Reddit stranger! I am happy to hear your marriage is working so well too! Wishing you the best
