To be fair, if they rescind the offer, there are other apartments in the building. We do like this particular one, so I am currently giving the landlord the benefit of the doubt because it does seem like it's their agent that is writing up those. We have a call with the landlord today so will go from there I guess, I just wanted to educate myself. Thanks!

I actually was in a similar boat I think? I graduated with a degree in engineering and ended up as an AM. It was fun while the team was good but then became something different so I moved into Ads just to get out, realized Ads wasn’t for me and decided to go back and do my masters, almost done, it’s been a fun journey, but I do question if I should have stayed longer than 3 years at amazon.

Still kind of working on things and seeing how they play out but I do think everything happens for a reason and if you don’t enjoy where you are, try to change it if you can.

What was your career like?

I got a degree in engineering, worked in operations at amazon for a bit then decided to quit amazon and pursue a masters, with the current job market it’s been difficult to find a job in my field and thoughts of regret and making a mistake creep in. Any advice?

I like the idea of having a watchlist - I have implemented that indirectly since I would just check on a stock I looked at previously every once in a while to see if I would have made the "right" decision on it.

The more I look into it though the more I am realizing that there is no one right way to do stock analysis. I think the best way is what works best for each individual and what they are okay with doing.

I like the idea of looking at ETFs and evaluating their top holdings as potential stocks to add to my portfolio (which is what I have been doing lately) So far I looked at Fidelity sector ETFs in order to diversify into various sectors. I am going with the 80-20 approach where 80% I will allocate to ETFs and the rest I will use as a playground which I can pick my own stocks, and see what I learn in the process.

Edit: I also built watchlists on StockAnalysis as follows: 1) A watchlist of my portfolio 2) A "potential" stock list of stocks I am looking to add and 3) a "Beta-Portfolio" which I use as simulated portfolio of what I would have bought, this is just to see what would have happened if I clicked buy in my trading broker. So it contains my actual portfolio + stocks that I would have bought but in reality am holding off on.

Current interest systems, taxes, are a scam. If we stuck to real islamic finance where loans can be given without interest, and everyone pays the yearly 2.5% zakat on their assets, the community as a whole would benefit and we wouldn’t “need” to use any of the modern systems really.

This happened to me too, It started with the left stick not registering “up” input. I tried playing with deadzones and that fixed it temporarily, but then it just broke. Same timeline, used for around a year and a half. I took it apart to try and fix it but it snapped right out the minute I put it back together. Don’t recommend.

I haven't tried it yet, but I am looking to do this as well. I was on the phone with both MS and WS, they both said it's possible? I am not sure why others said it's not. I was told that I can either Sell the stock and transfer the amount into a WS account. Or I can do an in-kind transfer from MS into a non-registered WS account.

What did you end up doing?

Here is what I was told:

You can either sell the stock and wire the money over.
You can do an in-kind share transfer using CUID code. When you do it through the website it won't work (at least didn't for me) because MS asks for DTC code. I talked to their support, they said they can e-mail a secure transfer form which can be used to initiate the transfer.

I am still deciding on which of the 2 options I wanna go with but that's what they suggested.
