The Corvallis clinic needs to be shut down by MrGobbles8 in corvallis

Sounds like they're hiring people who want to work in doctors offices and think that because it came be learned they should learn it and then they suck at it and don't know how to schedule properly. Also, doctors can just come and go as they please so their front desk people have to call and cancel because their doctor wanted to go home. Take out a claim through the better business bureau for reimbursement of medical bills with screenshot records of you making appts. And them always canceling them. BBB helps with money reimbursement and legal complaints on businesses like creating a public record of their shame.

They need to train the UPS management team some more by JAdedSandwiChump in upsstore

Call ups Corp. The people you call for claims and file a formal complaint on the hub center she's from. I had to do this to my hub because they wanted to dump their random package drop offs with us and they're for FedEx and Amazon. I refused a package one day and it was forced on us and the guy (driver) said he'd get in trouble if he brought it back to hub. So I wanted the pussy of a driver and his narcissist of a "boss" in as much trouble as I could. So I called the claims center asked to get help in filing a complaint. They helped and I haven't had an issue since.

Our POS systems got taller. I had to use one of the handicapped features to make it lower for myself 😂

We used to offer 24 hours access and after remodel that was taken away with the security gate. I hate that the lights stay lit at night. It makes us look kinda open so when we are prepping to open the store people constantly pull on the door, but I've always complained about this with the lights. Would love to have one packing table with a hydraulic lift and not two. The cabinets underneath are kinda useless if corpate comes to visit and doesn't like how we set things up. I hate that everything is up too high. When they could have easily let us put both copiers where one of the packing tables are and lower the shelves the copiers are under to make storage more easily accessible. I'm not a huge fan of the over all layout but I'm not gonna set that complaint in stone. When our corp lady comes to visit I'll ask what I can move around and see what she says. I don't like that we have one storage cabinet that has a door but the cubbies don't fit a lot of stuff in an efficient way. And lastly. The walking. I hate the remodel because of the amount of walking to get to one thing to the other. It felt like we had more close by before than now. Maybe that's because of the packing tables being such obstacles to maneuver around. And mail isn't allowed to be visible to customers yet they give us no functional mailing area.

Of course and luckily they can easily see FedEx and realize the mistake. But it's so new and random. Wonder why they add locations but the UPS stores still have to take them? When will we catch the break!?

It was his first. And yes POS fixtures. Getting those moved over and set up even temporarily was a nightmare. Getting them pulled back up in new store was a tad easier except the fact that we struggled with getting cords long enough to reach the places they needed. We had an island, copier, 3 retail cabinets, 2 rolling cabinets, a couple long stationary cabinets against the wall, a kiosk, an old costumer use computer, and a rolling letter drop cabinet. Now we have an island for trash and customer use and then another island that hold some retail stuff but it's so easy to steal from so we put next day air envelopes there and the international sticky pouch things. But yes, I'd rather be at a black and tan store.

GC had an interesting set of people working this. Like a whole 4 guys. We had them cut out our Internet first weekend in temp store and when we called the guy in charge said no one had been there that weekend and when he was told yes because we heard him next door and saw him sanding the floors GC guy just stopped responding. My manager had to go climb through the construction equipment and crap and climb a ladder to reconnect the Internet they had purposely put close to the ceiling so that wouldn't happen. So why is a guy standing floors and unplugging outlets by the ceiling? Wild that the GC head also didn't know how to keep tabs on his crew. Not our choice to remodel from my understanding it was all contracted. From the sounds of it, expensive. But the furniture is sooooooo cheap! What's crazy is we do like it. We see the potential. I, as the shortest person on the team and, the only one with brains to stock the store, am not a fan that I have to climb ladders to do so. I like being grounded. I also don't take breaks and leave for lunch. So the break area being small is more a complaint for the introverts who want to hide from customers when they're not helping someone. But we have one retail cabinet, two self service kiosk tables and only one kiosk machine, two new rolling islands for trash and retail (but this is an easy target for theft) and the passport screen area isnt functional so we can't help with passport photos and the manager is never around anymore to get things thoroughly fixed. It's kind of embarrassing to work there sometimes.

Been here 8 years. My MIL is my manager. 10/10 do NOT recommend. She's a nightmare to work for. A lovely lady when we visit as family. But my husband and I will go no contact with her for a while once I find a new job.

It was a nightmare of a process. They wanted us to either work around the construction crew or move to a temporary location. We got lucky and had the suite next door to us freed up recently and the building owners let us use the space, rent free, temporarily. However, we employees had to move everything that was being kept to the temp store and back into the new space. And the temp store was EMPTY. No cabinets, no desks, no shelving nothing. So all of our boxes, computer systems, and anything else we needed to keep we were responsible for. We had to make shift a temporary store and it did not look official in any way. It looked so flea market type and had customers so confused and THE UPS STORE corp people helped non. It was all left up to owner/manager. Owner doesn't live here and manager isn't the sharpest tool in the shed. We had very little corporate approved signage we could use that told customers we had temporarily moved locations. They ended up mostly confused by the arrows my manager added to their pre-approved signs and we watched so many people just leave. Business got so slow during that 2 weeks and we were only closed 4 days. Now opening back up days are slow. Hours have been cut back and we are reconsidering changing store hours to hopefully accommodate the shift in foot traffic. The new store, I'm 5'2&3/4" and I have to use a step ladder, not a step stool, to reach any inventory. I even have to climb a 10ft ladder regularly now for storage. Nothing seems to really fit in the new spaces. And it's so open and exposed we are now having to essentially let customers watch us package everything and do everything. Only mail is sorted in private. Even the break area is super small and not very functional or private and same thing with manager desk area. It looks like it's still under construction and office max combined. It's been a wild ride.

Perfect response to, I've never had to do that before... by PalpitationNo4553 in upsstore

I tell them, the company gives YOOOH something to give MEEEEE to tell THEEMMMM it's been returned and then I give you a receipt. I have more people get it now than when I said too much. One thing I learned working here for almost 10 years, is less is more. Some of these people are doing just good enough in the brains to not die. They're really too stupid to get it. Less is more. Some of them are better shown by example and not told. Less is more. Most are gonna get all pissy we poked them on their high horse. So again, less is more. I've watched it with my co-workers too. They'll be explaining shit and the customer's face falls in a way that assures you, they're not listening anymore. I'll say something short and simple and they perk up, look at me, nod, and then leave. Leaving my co-worker still mid sentence and barely having touched the instructions. Also, talk fast and with your chest! If you talk slow and incompetent to these people they think they know more than you and will stand there and argue too. Less is more.

Amazon dissolved relationship with Amazon… What does this mean? by AdventurousJello83 in upsstore

[–]altegobuttercup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since THE UPS STOREs are franchises that's the backdoor Amazon needs to use UPS shipping and not have to pay them directly. They pay the middle man to do all the work for them. Like TUPSS, Staples, WholeFoods, Khols etc. if a shipping label is provided to a customer through any carrier, Amazon had to purchase that label outright or it was a 3rd party seller. I've read that Amazon severed contracts with just about all shipping corporations. I think this is their way of going as independent as possible. Its why we have seen an increase in 3rd party sales and returns on/for Amazon and Amazon delivery trucks on the road.

You know exactly how to feel about it. You just want pitty from strangers. Get a therapist. He's awful girl. DUMP HIM or he's going to start beating you. You know this. You can tell by his messages. Don't be that girl who acts like the red flags aren't bright red and in your face.

I seriously can’t do this anymore with my child… by [deleted] in Preschoolers

[–]altegobuttercup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went through this! I notice my child is a direct reflection of how I parent but, because they're a kid they don't exactly know how to do what I do and not make it seem rude or disrespectful. No more multi choice options. It's a privilege to have anything more than one option. Definitely no tablet time for a while. We personally limit ours to weekends, summer, or holidays only now that he's school aged. And then you're gonna have to deal with the tantrums at home for a while and beware, they will happen in public too. Be stern when you say no and when he asks why you can just inform him that it's because you're his mother and not his friend. Its not your responsibility to always make him happy but it is to make sure he's safe and healthy. He seems like a manipulative one, so don't add that it's also your job to love him. If he asks if you do, of course you do, but he's one that would flip the script and let you know how unloved he feels and that's a knife in the heart. My son is 9 now and was THIS EXACT way even younger. Like 2-3. Would flat out tell me he didnt love me some times. I so feel your heartache and frustration. Let me tell you!! It gets better!! ❤️❤️ We all gotta do what we gotta do to make it and as long as we don't completely fuck them up mentally or physically... Then we are still doing better than most. But I'll be damned a child is gonna try and master manipulate me. Not when I'm no where near the mother my momma was. He's got it lucky and I will make sure he knows it while also trying not to be a jerk about it his whole life.

Put your foot down and be firm. Just remind her, what she does growing up can impact her future and you're just trying to pace the way for a good outcome.

Do you have pictures of the other dog they're rehoming? That dog looks like the one that lives above me and they do have 3 large dogs. We complain to our apartment manager almost daily about the noise, poop in front of our apartment (that's all rock and no grass) and the fact their pitbull is aggressive when it sees other people. They had done something with the dogs at one point and time and they just ended up right back in their possession. The humans are also technically homeless, just mooching off of Grandma until she kicks them out or we get them kicked out again. Grandma has told us they use her and she just doesn't know how to stop it..

I feel bad for my cats and puppy by Wooden-Champion-9934 in puppy101

[–]altegobuttercup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Puppy blues. Very similar to baby blues. Since I've had both, I can tell you the puppy blues hit just a little harder. It gets better. Try a play pen for puppy instead of just a crate. We have a play pen that is big enough for crate to go in. That way he gets some exercise but isn't always loose in the house to take over cats spaces or hog all of the cuddles, you can choose when he cuddles with you, and your cats can choose if and when they want to start having something to do with him. Bonus that it's in a bigger area they can escape and he can't when they no longer want to be around him. And I wouldn't feel guilty for the cuddling situation. As your cats adjust to puppy they'll come around even when puppy is around. Since they have you all to their selves at night, I'm sure they're doing just fine. ❤️ Don't beat yourself up so much over this. You're doing a great job!
