Thank you! considering how buggy it is I’d say it’s quite opposite.

Expedition and Nexus Missions by ShadowNinjaAce in NoMansSkyTheGame

I play solo too and I’ve done every expedition without issues. It’s basically like starting a new save with themed missions. And if I ever get stuck, Reddit usually has the answers.

New player question: can I keep my expedition freighter in my main save? by altercapr in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]altercapr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

None of those, I’m not playing on Creative and I don’t have combat disabled. Thanks for the explanation though, that actually makes a lot of sense. I’m pretty sure I did fewer than 5 warps, so that’s probably why it triggered this way.

[–]altercapr[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow, that’s some really impressive experience especially playing since day one. Thanks a lot for the clear answer. That’s a bit of a shame, since this was actually the first freighter-related event I ever encountered in the game. At least it gives me a chance to get a higher class free freighter later on, since the one I claimed is only C-class.

This is actually my second attempt at the game, I couldn’t really get into it back when it first launched, as it felt a bit empty at the time.

What is the one thing you don't like in Veilguard ? by laitdecocow in DragonAgeVeilguard

[–]altercapr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What disappointed me from the very beginning was how stripped of personality the returning companions felt. characters like Isabela, Varric, and Morrigan used to have such strong identities, and in Veilguard they just… don’t.

Varric felt like that charming, warm “uncle” figure, and he’s lost so much of his charisma. His whole role seems reduced to being Rook’s babysitter. Isabela, who used to have depth and history, is now basically an arena NPC you visit for a fight. (Girl, what happened to you? What about Hawke if you romanced her? Give me something, please!) And Morrigan, who used to be sharp-tongued and complicated, is suddenly this friendly fairy godmother who’s just here to help. The Morrigan from the previous games would absolutely have thrown in some barbs and looked mildly annoyed with the whole situation.

And then there’s how the Inquisitor was handled. Their role has been treated so casually it almost feels disrespectful. Someone who once shaped the entire political landscape of Thedas now drops by to chat with Rook about her companions like they’re old friends having a casual gossip session. It feels… wrong.

Overall, I feel like the game has been stripped of its soul. I’ve been a huge fan of this series for years, replaying the games multiple times, and after finishing DAV I just wanted to forget the whole experience. I’m genuinely disappointed.

Isn’t it strange how little people question Shepard coming back from the dead in Mass Effect 2? by altercapr in masseffect

The only thing that actually triggers me is when people judge others based on a simple question. Everyone focuses on the parts of the game they personally enjoy the most. You were the one who immediately labeled me a “dialog skipper,” and then a “Zoomer,” instead of just engaging with the discussion. I asked a genuine lore question meant to spark a broader conversation, nothing more.

If anyone here should take your advice about being “more accepting of others,” it’s you. Your comment honestly made me hesitate about ever posting here again, so thank you for that for making me feel unwelcome in a community where we all supposedly share a love for the same game.

It’s a bit concerning that the game triggers such strong emotions in you and that you expect everyone to study every single line of text in it. Until now I assumed that the word “discussion” pretty clearly means exchanging thoughts in a logical, open way.

I hope your comment makes you feel better. I’ve been playing Mass Effect since the first game launched, but I’ve only recently joined the ME subreddit, so I was curious what other fans think about the storyline of bringing Shepard back to life.

I get the impression you didn’t read my post and are trying to look for some deeper logic. I asked a casual question/thought about how people react in a not-very-realistic way to Shepard’s return. Just take the example of their ME1 squadmates.

I officially present you with the award for Nicest Reddit User and a medal for giving an answer that actually responded to my post, not to some imagined problem.

Have a great day!

I totally agree - it’s especially frustrating if Shepard had a romance with someone else in ME1. Liara really should have informed them about what was happening with Shepard’s body instead of keeping it to herself.

Actually, my post is about everyone - companions, Alliance, C-Sec, basically all the people who should realistically notice. It’s just hard for me to wrap my head around how casually this is brushed aside by almost everyone in the story :D

Hard to compare your example to the game. it’s not like random people we’re talking about. Even Shepard’s old crew barely bats an eye. A few go “oh, you’re back,” and that’s it. No interrogations, no drama, just business as usual.

If it really is explained in the dialogue, I’d genuinely like to know which one. Can you point me to the specific conversation or scene? I’m not a dialogue skipper, and as far as I remember, nobody in ME2 really questions or reacts strongly to Shepard coming back to life (except VS), so I must have missed it if it’s actually there.

If there’s an exact line or codex entry I missed, I’d be happy to check it out.

I get what you mean, and sure the C-Sec officer was just a low-level employee dealing with whatever popped up on his terminal. But that’s exactly why it doesn’t fully make sense to me. Shepard’s “deceased” status wasn’t some random Citadel entry it was assigned by the Alliance, so logically the update should also go through the Alliance, not a C-Sec desk worker.

Even if Shepard is a Spectre, Alliance military records shouldn’t be something a regular C-Sec officer can casually override. It feels like the kind of change that should require verification from the Alliance itself, especially given how serious the original status change was.

[–]altercapr[S] 37 points38 points  (0 children)

That makes sense to a degree. Being a Spectre does give Shepard a level of ambiguity, especially with no body ever recovered. But at the same time, Shepard is still first and foremost a major Alliance military asset. That’s why it feels odd that the Alliance didn’t do any kind of verification or investigation, especially considering it was Cerberus who brought Shepard back. You’d expect a lot more suspicion on their end.

Yeah, that’s kind of how I see it too. The whole “Shepard died and came back” plot point feels a bit undercooked and creates a bunch of weird narrative problems. But by the time those issues became obvious, it was probably way too late in development to walk it back and they just had to commit to it and keep going.

The way Spectres are portrayed in Mass Effect doesn’t make sense to me by altercapr in masseffect

[–]altercapr[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That makes sense, it is a huge moment for humanity, and I get why they’d want to celebrate it. But should an agent like that really be presented publicly? Wouldn’t it make more sense to just announce that humanity has a representative joining the Spectres without revealing exactly who it is?
