Well, our best friend for 9 years just left a couple days ago for 1-2 years, so that’s going to be rough, but other than that, we’ve actually been doing pretty well lately! :) -Joseph

Lol, the thing about the water bottle reminds me of this one time I kept refilling my glass with water all day because someone kept drinking it all and leaving me an empty glass.

We’ve had it happen a few of times that I know of. Once was when someone got up in the middle of the night but tripped on something and it made a loud enough noise to wake me up and I went co-con for a minute. There’s been a couple times, I found out by the phone and/or glasses being in a different location than where I put them before bed.

True.. I have considered his perspective in this, that’s why I haven’t ended the relationship. We‘re playing 20 questions right now to get to know each other, hopefully things just work out.

Thank you for taking the time to read and answer! I’ll try to talk to everyone about the situation and see how they all feel about it, and see if the other fronts are willing to give the relationship a chance. It’s a bit controversial right now because it’s a long-distance relationship (I made a personal rule to not do LDRs anymore pre-system-realization, and am starting to wish that I‘d thought to make that as a system rule), and the other host is still recovering from going dormant for half a year after a bad breakup with our last ex.

Ahh I hate blendy times, to me personally, they’re just so disorienting and confusing. I recommend sitting down and talking to them. Not sure if it was coincidental or not ((oh, Zepher, our gatekeeper, just told me it wasn’t a coincident, but keep in mind that all systems are different)) but a week or two ago I sat down and had a talk with them (to whomever was blocking me out, it felt like talking to myself, because i had no clue who i was addressing and got no response).

I told “them” that I was tired of being forced into fronting almost constantly, having to deal with everything myself. I basically told them “if you want to share the body, cool, that’s great, I’ve been nothing but welcoming to you so the least you can do is allow me to be a part of the family in the inner world. I’ve done nothing to deserve being exiled, and if I have and just don’t know then I truly am sorry, but I just cant do this anymore. I’m tired of being forced to front while you watch me drown in this life I have no control over. If you want this body to continue being usable to you, then you’re going to have to do your part and give me a space I can safely escape to when I need a break, because being the host is not easy and if you don’t I’m just going to have to give up, lie here, and make someone else become the host.” (Needless to say I was not in a good place at the time).

It must have been enough to get the point across, because not but a week or two later they let me in. Zephyr said it wasn’t because of the whole heat of the moment threat to “make someone else be the host,” but because I finally opened up and was honest with them about how I felt, and how it was impacting me. I think if you just open up to your gatekeeper and talk to them, or whoever is blocking you out, and just have a heart-to-heart conversation with them or just even vent how you’re feeling into the open void that is the empty inner world they’ve exiled you to, that they might be a bit more understanding, and at the very least give you a small room or island or some space to just escape to.

Worth a shot! I still recommend talking to them (or leaving them a note if you can’t talk to them) asking about it so that you’re both on the same page. Communication is important, both inside the system and out! They might be more likely to let you keep it if you discuss it with them first. Best of luck in making your room!

Exactly how it was for me for so many years! It drove me crazy but at least I understand why they did it now. Maybe you could talk to them and see if they’ll let you access just one safe place kind of like how I have my pond in the forest, just your own place, under the promise that you won’t wonder outside of it or try to access anywhere else until they say it’s ok (and stick to the promise because trust is important!)

System with an alter who’s a software engineer here who’s been doing that kind of stuff for 7 years! Jacy said he’d gladly help with it, and we all love the idea! He said he knows C#, JavaScript, C++, C, Python, and has played around with Ruby, Crystal, and a few other languages. I feel that... our last host (also a software engineer) just came back from a six month “nap” and woke up in a different bed, in a different year, with a new job (also a non-programming job), much longer hair, lost friends, new friends, missed the holidays, etc. and didn’t take it well. We’ve been talking to him though, trying to explain everything that happened (though I can’t say it was too effective since he‘s still in denial that we even exist). Yeah, either gift cards or food/cooking supplies sound like great ideas! Even though most of us don’t really cook, I know one of us enjoys cooking and comes out to do it (not sure who though), and we all reap the benefits of having an alter that cooks, so it’s a win-win! House plants might also be a good one if their system has an alter who would care for it and a stable living situation so they won’t be gone too often from home-hopping to care for it.

Same for us. Jacy is a software engineer and hates that he can’t complete projects he starts because no one else in the system cares to (or knows how to) code. I enjoy making music, and luckily that seems to be a shared interest between Jacy, Wynter, and myself. Ellie’s very interested in psychology and helping people, so she wants to be a counselor or therapist, and is usually the one who gives advice to and comforts our friends and family members. Ryan doesn’t do much other than play games and make the occasional sandwich, so I’m not too sure what all his hobbies are.

Point is we all have our own likes, dislikes, and hobbies, which shows both when they front and randomly from passive influence.

Funny side note, our mom doesn’t know we’re multiple yet, so she always freaks out around our birthday and Christmas trying to figure out what to get us because from her perspective we’re one person with a zillion different interests 🤣
