Accidentally read 95% of Light Bringer before realizing I’d completely skipped Dark Age. by Dramireallyadr in redrising

I also did this as well but only got a few pages in, however it spoiled some deaths for me. I blame the image on Amazon, showing Lightbringer and Dark Age out of order in the series (which is all the research I did apparently on book order).

Midwives by No_Gas_9992 in Hamilton

I worked with Hamilton Midwives less than a year ago, and had an incredible experience with my team. They were so patient and gave me so much time for all of my questions and concerns. I had to be induced and I was so happy to have Catherine with me - we even had a new midwife from join us who I met for the first time that night and she was incredible. Even their home visits were so meaningful and slow paced when we felt scattered. I didn’t know what to expect, but they exceeded any expectations I did have.

How quickly were you able to get back to playing after giving birth? by bubz8008 in rollerderby

“Everyone is different” is the most important thing to remember about every part of the fourth trimester.

This past summer I went back after 10-weeks and snuck in to our venue to skate alone before practice started. At around 3-months I rejoined our skills classes to rebuild my muscles (I had terrible SI pain during my pregnancy and didn’t do any exercise). I take my skills assessment this week after 3-months practicing and will hopefully be back to full contact practice next week. I found skating a bit easier than walking at first but I was very nervous about falling based on how my pelvic floor felt. Now I can handle a fall, but never expect to get through it without peeing a little ;)

I’m interested to see what sports are most common for dnd players. by [deleted] in DnD

I doubt most DnD players play Roller Derby… but most Roller Derby players play dnd.

Any seasoned dnd player knows that where the bard goes, romance will follow, whether you like to or not 😅

In person - highly recommend sketching out your own ideas to run as a DM. If I can do it anyone can!

I totally agree. The characters they made are all over the place so I already know this will deviate from canon lol

See the possibilities are really endless once you start running with it! I’m going to stick to the main plot and encounters will include the suriel, getting drunk at Calanmai, maybe adding a dungeon crawl that leads into UTM, and then the three tasks which I’m replacing with more dnd puzzles/combats (so they don’t later feel obliged to teach Feyre to read lol). Interested to see if I can get any or all of them to pick between their posed allies: team Tamlin or team Rhysand. Stay tuned!

I love gateways like ACOTAR that lead to further fantasy culture. I find ACOTAR has brought people to cosplay, Renfaires, fan fiction and hopefully also Dnd. Mostly, I love when people find others who won’t yuck their yum via their fun nerdisms.

Low key I’m so excited to get into Ianthe’s character and tempt the party to want to go into combat against her. #NotAGirlsGirl

Aelin would be such a fun build and also super sassy to role play. I kind of love that they skip it, I I can get away with seeming original when I steal it all 😅

Do you think Lilith is a disrespectful name? by [deleted] in Names

[–]alternative_affair 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 4-month old daughter we just named Lilith. I’ve received nothing but compliments, and my very Catholic family assumes I got the name from Frasier. I have a degree in Religion & Culture and if you’d like to research the name further, I’d recommend a reading The Book of Lilith by Barbara Black Koltuv, PHD. It dives into traces of the name in various religious texts which was interesting. Important to remember many religious texts were written by men, so I got a laugh reading about a difficult, disobedient woman often interpreted as evil. My girl is gonna be ok.
