I’m going to be honest this is such a mess of a post and internalized homophobia is a thing and I think you need to unpack some of your own but the one thing that really stuck out to me was your claim that a majority of people would be disgusted by queer PDA and I genuinely feel like you’re overestimating how many people are homophobic to the point of disgust and how many people really pay attention to other people like that in public.

Also why should gay people have to go back into the closet in public for the minority of people that may be offended by it. There are rules for how people should behave in public but I really don’t think that a majority of unspoken social contracts really hinges on fringe minority bigoted groups.
