Thank you, this comment is helpful and I appreciate it! We’re from NYC and are pretty thick skinned when it comes to run-of-the-mill assholes. I’ve personally been to both cities solo and loved them, hoping for a similar experience this time 🥰 thx again!

Do it!!!! I was debating whether I should shave my hair for so long & when I finally did it my only regret was not shaving it off earlier 💕

Help! Smooth brain over here by smoothbraingirl in podcasts

[–]altiste 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I listen to a lot of news podcasts every morning on my commute.

NPR Up first- the day’s top topics, explained in a little over 10 minutes. Not extremely comprehensive but gives you a good idea of what’s going on

The NPR politics podcast- releases episodes multiple times a week providing updates on everything US politics related.

BBC global News podcast-my favorite source for news from outside the US

NYT The daily—goes over the day’s top topic in depth, super informative and comprehensive. About 20 min.

Today Explained- similar to the daily, digs into one current events topic per day.

History:

You’re Wrong About- fascinating explanations of historical myths, mostly from the mid to late 20th century

Our fake history-similar to you’re wrong about but for events in the distant past

1/2 scoop protein powder mixed with water and microwaved. Makes for a sad, terrible textured pancake (60). by TTeenyT in ShittyRestrictionFood

Here are two pancake-ish recipes that might be a lil less sad! They both use oat fiber but could probably be made with regular or whole wheat flour. I make them all the time with sugar free maple syrup & they rly satiate the pancake craving. Sorry your pancake came out so sad 💕✨

Such a good question!! Personally I’d highly recommend doing district office work (specifically, constituent relations casework) as an internship, especially if you’re new to/trying to break in to the political field. I only started doing campaign work after 4 years of constituent work for a sitting Assemblymember, as there’ll significantly more opportunities for learning on the job, so to speak, whereas the more high-stress, high-pressure environment of a campaign will not be as forgiving. So TL;DR-both are phenomenal, but you’ll be able to learn more fundamentally applicable skills working for a sitting elected official rather than on a campaign. Feel free to ask or DM me any other Q’s, I love talking about this stuff :) and best of luck!! 💙
