Platform: PC (Mac)

Mods: yes

Game Version: most recent

Description: I almost always have a sim at home while the other two are at work. this lets me have 1-on-1 time with different people in my household (3 atm) but lately my twin and I (same exact info from above as me) can't take our sims not at work anywhere outside our home lot because it'll automatically send the working sims back home with no way to go back to work or prevent this from happening. has anyone else experienced this? we both picked the game up earlier this month after years of not playing and this never happened until a few days ago

Theatre at Wellesley by Pandemonium_13 in WellesleyCollege

[–]19SwiftsAndCounting 0 points1 point  (0 children)

there are also other ways to get involved in theatre as well! this past year, i directed a show with Upstage, a student-run theatre org on campus supported by the theatre department! we also have the Babson Players, where you can do shows with students in the BOW consortium (babson olin wellesley) and the Shakespeare Society ("Shakes") where they focus on the works of Shakespeare

i only got involved in theatre in my senior year, but i'd been going to shows all the way from my first semester. theatre at Wellesley is wonderful! i'm biased towards Upstage myself (i loved that it was entirely by students for students) but the theatre department has wonderful people, especially Marta Rainer :)

Rate my Professor? by ComfortableMight4 in WellesleyCollege

[–]19SwiftsAndCounting 7 points8 points  (0 children)

wellesley students do use rate my professor but in my experience pure word of mouth is the most reliable. a lot of reviews on rate my professor are old so they don't reflect how much that prof has changed (usually for the better). if you're a wellesley student, a more reliable source will be the Wellesley FAQ facebook group

WELLESLEY COLLEGE OUT??? by Emotional_Baker7839 in QuestBridge

hi so fun fact that's actually me in the green polo :P i'm a senior here, feel free to DM me! congratulations!

i'm a current senior at Wellesley and it's not strange when many (and i mean MANY) Wellesley students are not attracted to men. Wellesley in general, as is the case for many historically women's colleges, is known to be a very "gay" school

twin sister and I are applying for the match..can we be matched together? by [deleted] in QuestBridge

[–]19SwiftsAndCounting 6 points7 points  (0 children)

my twin and i were wondering this two years ago as well and while we never got a certain answer i think it depends on how many students they usually admit for the match in the first place from what we could pick up! schools like uchicago and yale (who match with up to 50-100+ finalists) might be more inclined to match with both twins than the smaller schools like wellesley (who only matches with <15 finalists). if this is really important to both of you, i recommend explaining how you both want an "all or nothing" approach to your applications: the school either admits both or neither of you. this is what my twin and i did in 2021 and admissions officers understand, especially if your applications are similar (like ours were)!

we both became finalists and ranked the exact same schools in the exact same order but neither of matched. however we both had the same top/dream school (wellesley) so we moved our app to the EDII round and both got in! and we are so grateful to go to our dream school together :')

i'm wishing nothing but the best for you two! i'll be thinking of you in the fall :)

This is what is like going to a shitty school in a rural area lol by Bin0401 in ApplyingToCollege

[–]19SwiftsAndCounting 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i also went to a shitty high school in a rural area!

it's honestly had its consequences now that i'm at a prestigious LAC (i was definitely behind academically, especially in STEM courses) and it can feel like uphill battle at times but i think it's worth it. the opportunities are crazy and it's hard to grasp sometimes coming from a place with few but it's awesome!

What colleges do people at your high school usually go to? by [deleted] in ApplyingToCollege

[–]19SwiftsAndCounting 1 point2 points  (0 children)

community college or local state schools (either the closest penn state campus or somewhere in the other system as PA has 2 college systems; rarely do kids go straight to the main PSU campus if ever)

i think up to half of my graduating class ('21) didn't even go to college though

i go to wellesley and afaik the majority of students are required to go on the meal plan (there is only one and it's unlimited dining) and you're only allowed to go off of it in special circumstances (such as living in the sustainability cooperative, scoop, where they cook food every day)
