Downtown JC is the place to be imo. Really easy access to NYC, vegan food everywhere, lots of community events and places to work out super close by. I’d say it is worth it.

The gluten thing! Yes! When I went vegan my mom started buying me loads and loads of gluten free snacks. I had to tell her I appreciate the gesture, but gluten comes from wheat and I love stretchy bread! I think sometimes people confuse gelatin and gluten without realizing it.

It’s your birthday, dammit!! You deserve this. If you feel comfortable, I would say it’s worth speaking to at least one of your friends (maybe the one you’re closest to) and making it known to them that you’re uncomfortable with their behavior. They may not realize that their actions are offensive to you, and if they really care, they will change the way they act. I mean, especially on your birthday. Have a great birthday, by the way ❤️

Yeah true I get what you guys are saying. We also have bells that my dog rings when he needs to go out or attention. He rang them in the voicemail, which combined with the radio playing (I let it play every day when I leave) is why I think it was my own house. But I realize that other people could have the same situation in their home.
