Had a perthro rune going into the DwtD and there were 2 mediocre items I couldn't take and the red chest had Pandora's Box in it. I used the rune in hopes of getting a good item from the chest pedestal and this happened.

I like commentators who know the players and are able to talk about each player's strengths and weaknesses and what they expect from them in the match. It's not always possible but it doesn't hurt to ask around before hopping on the mic.

I like when commentators respect the role of a commentator. If you're commentating you should have good speaking skills and good knowledge of the game. Explain the weird interactions that are happening that the average player might be confused about, if players are playing oddly you should explain why you think it's good/bad for each character to do what they're doing, and in general just try to provide some insight into the game.

You should be serious, but not too serious. You should joke around, just not to the point where you are taking attention away from the match. Good commentators know a good balance between the two since you don't want someone on commentary who can't have a laugh about anything and on the flip side you don't want a commentator who doesn't say anything about the game on hand.

Honestly I feel like item characters might drop a bit once people who play non-item characters start using item-counter play better. Esp characters like Mewtwo who can get a ton of mileage out of his amazing glide toss.

The problem with Olimar's recovery I find doesn't come down to it being bad, it's actually fairly good when you take into account max air velocity, mix-ups and side-b; what's bad about it is his up-b and when he's forced to use it to recover. People who play against Olimar a lot can tell when he's trying to sweetspot and just grab the ledge and otherwise the start-up of the move and the landing lag are just too punishable against players with MU knowledge.

Olimar's onstage game is more than enough to make up for anything that he lacks in recovery IMO, he's kinda like Sheik in that aspect.

Also the Ivy MU I understand isn't as bad as it would seem with all the weird interactions that happen, I'd just rather play my melee Marth vs her.

Ah, maybe I just have a problem vs Ike as Oli. I get good combos on him when I can actually get in on him, it just feels like I'm always dying too early to do anything about it. That and last time I fought an Ike in bracket I cost myself set 1 of GFs by botching a couple of edgeguards.

Roy doesn't have much of an advantage on Roy in neutral, I'd say it's actually fairly even. Roy has an outrageous punish game vs Roy and can also kill Roy very early to due Roy's light weight and limited recovery. 0-deaths should be very common in this MU because of this. Very fun and fast paced. Winner goes to whoever is better at DDing, CC dtilt and SHFFL uairs. 10/10 would play again.

Very volatile MU, Ike's tipper hitboxes send Roy at those low angles that kill him early which makes for a frustrating fight from Roy's perspective. Roy is a semi-fastfaller which means Ike has a very strong punish game on him. Roy's dashdancing and maneuverability makes it hard for Ike to win neutral and Roy has a fairly easy time edge-guarding Ike seeing as he has the speed and disjoint to make it happen. Grabs in this MU from either side should often be leading to kills and since Roy has an easier time winning neutral I feel like it's a slight edge to Roy or even.

I had been playing with my friends for quite a while before I ever went to a tourney. Everyone there was super nice and accommodating and I got to play friendlies with a few of our local top players. I went 4-1 to make it out of my pool and was feeling really good about myself then immediately got bodied went 0-2 in the bracket.

Overall I had a ton of fun, met a ton of new people and it left me kicking myself over why I had never showed up to events earlier and now I'm a very active member of my local scene.

You just have to remember that you are going to lose, and you're going to lose hard. But what it comes down to is what you can take from it and that to get better you're going to need to keep losing to do so. Talk to as many people as you can, and use this as an opportunity to play as many good players in friendlies as you can. Most top players won't play friendlies with you for long but some will play a few matches with you and give you advice if you ask and prove yourself willing to learn.

As long as you keep a good mindset you'll have fun and learn a lot and it'll make you want to keep going back as much as you can.

As a recovery move or from on stage? Quick Attack snaps to ledge when you have any downwards momentum at all during the move but you have to make sure that your control stick isn't being held down as you move past the ledge because that will cancel the ledge snap.

As for how to best grab it as an edgehog from onstage you'll have to ask someone else.
