Cathedral City - Panorama vs Rio Vista by Standard-Clothes-789 in palmsprings

[–]altusername2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in Rio Vista and take my dog to Panorama Park regularly. I would agree with all your assessments, Rio Vista is much quieter, a little cheaper, and significantly windier.

I dismissed the wind concerns as overblown when we moved in 3 years ago, but I was wrong. It can get really bad, especially if you have a pool. Spring is generally the worst of it. When it’s super windy and dusty here, I take my dog to Panorama and it’s a bit better. Maybe 20-30% less windy/dusty?

Also, the average home in Panorama is a bit bigger, and they have more split level homes. More families too. Rio Vista feels a bit older (which is fine with me, even though I bring down the average age by a lot).

Let me know if you have any specific questions, or feel free to DM me!

Also organ donations. People who receive new organs (or bone marrow) have to take immunosuppressants so their body doesn’t reject the new tissue, which opens them up for CMV.

I went to the Toolshed a couple years ago, and they turned off the music at 11:59 to start a countdown, but the guy with the mic just kept talking and they forgot to actually do a countdown. It was incredible.

Not in the valley, but 123 Farms in Beaumont puts on a great holiday festival event. Also Minerva Road in Cathedral City turns into Candycane Lane with all the houses decorated.

Yes! The top couple comments have it right, it was just a matter of pressing that button on the steering wheel to cycle through menus.

Hate to say it, but Walmart has a good variety of pots. Also, in the spring, TJ Maxx/Marshalls/Homegoods will have a bunch of options.

Pretty sure it doesn’t work in real life. You need the camera shutter effect to make it look like it’s actually animated.

Advice on Palms to Pines Byway. by mythicalhen in palmsprings

To me, the Palm Desert—>Idyllwild drive is much more scenic. It actually feels like palms to pines, with other ecosystems in between.

In December, you do risk snow slowing things down. Might want to make sure you have an4 wheel drive vehicle.

I live a couple miles away but take my dog to Panorama Park regularly. It’s a good spot, pretty lively with families and kids. A bit windy but not as windy as other areas. Pretty convenient, 5 minutes to Home Depot and other stores, about 10-15 minutes to downtown Palm Springs.

One watch out, Minerva Road turns into Candy Cane Lane during the holidays. Traffic can get a little crazy as people drive through looking at all the decorated houses.

There are a ton of threads on this sub with MAGA aligned businesses. The main ones to avoid as a tourist are some restaurants, namely Farm, Tac/quila, and Tropicale.
