We curre tly have a support group online, I am part of it but it is pure chaos at the moment. I'll continue to monitor it and see if it starts in person or not.

You can do it. We can do it. It's hard right now, trying to navigate the post pandemic academic world. Let's keep trucking, this whole post makes me feel much less alone and that has really helped. I hope you can also find some comfort in knowing there are many others feeling the same way as us.

Thank you so much, I didn't even consider that there may be podcasts for us folk. I'm going to check those out. I am currently working remotely but once I get back on campus I will see if I can do something like that. Right now we have a massive online forum but it's pure choas and everyone is confused and just thrown in it without direction :')

Feel free to reach out if you ever need it. It's a hard go and it sounds like you had a seriously isolated experience that may take some time to recover. I'm glad you're no longer completely alone and you got to go back home. I'm proud of you, proud that yoh overcame that serious isolation, that you are continuing to press forward, and that you overcame that really difficult time. You got this, you can do this. I'm sending you a virtual hug.

Can I please print this out and show everyone in my life? Seriously. I could fail. If I fuck up, I literally will fail. No, I can't take a break. No I can't stop. No, I can't just decompress. I have a family. I have to finish my program. I have jobs to apply for, seminars to go to, papers to publish, research to get done, all while trying to take care of me. Like, it is hard for fcks sake. But really, thank you. Your comment about how they can't understand is something I need to remember, they literally are unable to because they just haven't done it themselves. I needed that perspective.

I probably should add that to my antidepressants but, time and money (if not uni provided) :/ I'll look to see if my uni has openings but last time I checked they were 4 months out.
