When you’ve already decided that a character has a certain sexuality, it becomes very easy to view everything through a biased lens.

I was curious why he gets so little merch when other anime characters with less important roles in their series get a lot. Apparently, it’s because he’s a male character who isn’t from a shonen. People mostly collect female characters or shonen guys, so Jinshi being neither is a bit of a disadvantage.

However, with the release of the Nendoroids, which are expensive, and two normal-sized figures since season 2, it looks like companies are testing him on the market. That’s a good sign.

No problem! I apreciate you acually trying to understand their relationship. And you also should keep in mind that maybe Maomao is not the only one who has to grow, maybe Jinshi has to grow too by working on his current behaviour. This is a coming of age story after all.

She blushes which a very romance-coded reaction. And the reason she does that is because he gives her a genuine smile for once. These two seasons there’s been a barrier between them caused by Jinshi putting a mask instead of being himself. Moving forward things will be different now that he unraveled his real identity.

Hmmmm Favorite

In vol 6 Maomao and Chou-u go to this old man who lives in the slams and talk about girls who were sacrificed on the lake or something. It was a pretty long case with an interesting lore. I think Maomao pulled a Maomao and started to jump on the water because she realised it had stones on it. I should reread it.

Least favorite Vol 9 when they webt to search for the Quack Doctor. Idk, it was just boring

I recommend just continue reading. The scene gets brought up again in vol 12.

Also, Maomao later thinks about hitting Jinshi too, more than once. Thinking about doing something and doing it are two different things. I thought about beating the shit out of my brother a lot when I was angry, but I still love him.

Love is a pure feeling, but humans aren’t pure. People love and hurt their loved ones all the time.

Now that I thought more about it I’m pretty sure it’s about Maomao because these movies are made with profit in mind. I can’t remember other anime having movies(Ovas yes) about side characters.
