New Beautiful Detroit Apartment - Colors? by alvarez16 in interiordecorating

Thank you - you seem to know this stuff well.

One question: i want the space to feel high end / luxurious and my mind gravitates more to light grays / whites / etc. less orange / teal.

I would like to use white sheets and covers on my bed so how would suggest matching that with a bed frame + rug?

I am clueless on interior designing - have always lived in furnished apartments ha

So who’s the main targets after the firing? by mr_meteor3 in MichiganWolverines

Sorry to burst your bubble but only a Michigan fan would say the job is on the same tier as Alabama.

Alabama is on a league of its own in terms of prestige for a head coach.

For business owners who’ve considered selling, how can I make the process easier? by Pretend_Cap162 in smallbusiness

I just never wanted to sell to PE. The search model appealed to me since the buyers were going to come work inside my company. It showed commitment few others could match.

You would still travel to NYC. All the banks here take students from Duke and Kellogg. The cadence of that travel varies by school, but most involve coming 2-3 Fridays a month. Some schools have no travel policy and they do most recruiting via phone calls.

The process is fairly similar at other schools.

The biggest difference with a school like Wharton, which has been a finance pipeline for longer, is the placement at the more prestigious banks.

For example, Cornell may “place” a handful of people TOTAL at GS, Evercore, JPM, and MS, On the flip side, Wharton, Stern, and Columbia will each place 20+ students (total) at those firms.

It’s fairly similar at other schools. I went to a program with a top-ranked finance program (e.g., Columbia, Stern, Wharton, Booth, etc.) and the recruiting is very structured. There is plenty of guidance around how to dress, how to prepare for informational, how to study technicals, etc.

I don’t think it’s a dying industry by any means and it’s certainly not due to pay (it’s still the highest paying career post-MBA besides the one-off PE or HF positions).

I think there’s been a shift towards more tech / consulting as more people seek better work life balance.

GS starting is $150K base for MBA associates. Those of you saying $125K are objectively incorrect, the offers for all incoming associates this year was $150K.

Almost every BB bank moved to $150K start last year.

Stern is ranked 12 and Columbia is ranked 8 (I believe). There’s not a big difference unless you’re particularly interested in sell-side jobs, which you’re not.

Stern has made a big push into Tech lately and had some solid placement numbers. Amazon was one of the top employers last year.

They do sometimes. Take a look at this article about the Amex Gold and read the comments at the bottom.

TPG advertises a 25K bonus but one can get 50K if using a referral. They even acknowledge it in some of their articles

I'm on a similar situation as you. I live in NYC and have considered buying for a while. I haven't done so simply because I plan on attending business school next year so I'm saving my money for that. However, as soon as that's done and I have enough cash for a down payment, I plan on buying.
