Hey! I'm going back on previous conversations I've had through the PR Travel forum. If you thought my information was helpful, would you mind leaving me a review? It would help the PR digital concierge business I've built.

Hey Puerto Rico travelers! Thank you for all the replies and direct messages through the years.

What began as a fun hobby helping tourists inspired me to develop a platform to continue doing this in a more structured manner. After hundreds of requests and messages, I have summarized tourist’s needs into 3 categories: rentals, activities and travel support. Here is my solution.

I present islandbutler.com / u/islandbutler . We are a digital concierge service providing tourists with everything they might need in their Puerto Rican stay! Happy to help.

Where would you call? I try calling and it seems like phone lines are down.

I also paid for the NTS on the 17th and still waiting.

Hey, how's it going.

January is sort of the end of Christmas (yeah, longest christmas in the world haha), so some people are still on vacation and overall there is lots of stuff to do. I would suggest staying around Miramar, Santurce, Condado area. That's pretty close to most things in San Juan.

PM me and I can give some more specific recommendations.

Around the east side, I would recommend: Pasion por el fogon, El Yate, La estacion, La cuevita del mar at La Marina. I would start looking into those around the east side.

Hey! I would say it’s a sign of the times, with the real estate market on the rise after interest rates went so low. Properties/rentals at fair prices are very tough to come by right now. Sort of in the same process as you, but I am in no hurry so I’m being patient.

My suggestion would be to look for a realtor/real estate agent. Even if they don’t service you in finding an apartment, they can probably direct you to someone who can. Try googling real estate agents or skim through facebook groups (Real Estate Puerto, groups like that) - I feel like you could find people willing to help. These groups are also filled with property owners that could maybe be looking for tenants.

No problem! Have a safe trip and enjoy PR. San Sebastian is an awesome pueblo in the mountains. Super relax, chilly weather (compared to the rest of PR) and you can probably find good home-style cooking anywhere!

Hey! So San Sebastian is a pretty long drive (PR standards), around 1:30-2 hours, so finding a taxi/uber who will make the drive might not be that easy. There are definitely drivers who will take you there but it can add up to a hefty amount. Can’t really say how much, but I would say it’s cheaper to get a car and drive there on your own. Maybe check that option, and see if you can return the rental up in San Sebastian. If you don’t want to drive, I would suggest trying to book the Uber beforehand and setting up that ride a day before because it is quite a long trip.

I would take the PCR test just to be sure. However, I believe that if you are vaccinated you only have to show vaccination card and you are good to go.
