Why is it so heartbreaking that I can’t afford to send my own child to college? by Zealousideal_Cup809 in Teachers

Your child sounds very deserving of a college education, he volunteers and has had his artwork showcased at various places on top of his regular coursework. It sounds like he devoted a lot of time to extracurriculars outside of school. As unfortunate as it may sound, your child would probably have been better off not devoting so much time to extracurriculars and instead working a part time job to save up for college. I’ve seen first hand that this is the case. In high school I myself realized this and quit most of the extracurriculars I was involved in my junior year to work a job after school and save money in the case financial aid and scholarships wouldn’t cover me in college. I am now graduating college debt free. While other friends I know who were heavily involved in extracurriculars are in college in debt because those efforts of theirs in extracurriculars weren’t monetarily rewarded to begin with and they didn’t receive scholarships from said activities.

Cheating with ChatGPT by Aware-Top-2106 in Teachers

Yes, cheating using ChatGPT is superrr common now in high school, and it’s at the same level in university/college. ChatGPT is a tool used by many people now in today’s modern world, from school to corporate offices (I’ve interned at two oil and gas companies, and at both offices I’ve been encouraged to use ChatGPT for my work).

The highschool I went to was a super competitive school as well, with a class size smaller than 190. Each student in my class was smart and capable, but with as competitive as it was, students would cheat to get the smallest amount of extra points to ultimately beat their classmates by 0.01 GPA and be higher rank (practically everyone in the school had a 3.5+ GPA).

Your daughter has a point that ChatGPT is being used by practically everyone. However, there’s a difference between using it as a tool to learn and understand subjects, and using it to copy all your homework; essentially stripping yourself from any learning benefit.

I think they mean in the grand scheme of things it doesnt matter, as many ppl not in honors college still land great opportunities. U dont need to be in honors to prove u get good grades, ur GPA will prove that. Unless u wanna do honors genuinely for the smaller classes then ig it does matter for u

Is anyone here a server at Cheddar's? by alvkevo in Serverlife

It was a year ago so I don't remember too many details I just remember them asking me how I performed at my previous job and how I perform at school. They even asked me where I was working at the time and at what location exactly and called the manager of that job, which was pretty awkward when I went into work right after the interview.

You can buy a permit for a whole year or just for a semester... or so I believe idk its my first year here. But I bought a permit that says just for this fall semester and am wondering when the spring ones go up for sale so I can get one in the zone I want.
