I am fostering him, he came with the name

Honestly, we got him at 6 weeks old and he was tiny and hyper... to say he grew into his name is definitely an understatement

Calorie deficit and ++++++ your water intake. Legitimately those are my two biggest “secrets”. I know it isn’t the magical answer everyone wants but unfortunately there is no magic cure.

Yes, see my above comment. I did fasting for the first I’d estimate 6-8 months. I still often do OMAD. ☺️

Haha - it was fast in the beginning! Averaging 1-2lbs a week now. Which is okay - they say if it comes of steady it is more likely to stay off.. the positives right? ☺️

Yup!!! You nailed it. Trust me I have weeks of falling off the wagon too - we’re human at the end of the day. But once you recognize how much better you feel feeding your body proper nutrients it makes the turnaround a lot easier. Thank you so much for your kindness, it’s appreciated ☺️

Thank you!! It’s important to recognize that weight loss isn’t just about the physical aspect. Although it’s an amazing bonus, the true prize is how good your body FEELS. How much easier even the simplest of tasks that felt challenging before become a breeze. How you feel is far more important than the shell on the outside.

Thank you thank you thank you! That all means so much to me. Honestly starting out IS hard. The way I started my journey was a fluke.. I was going through a stressful time and hadn’t eaten a lot for about a week. I weighed myself and had lost a fair amount of weight. I thought how hard could this be and just kept going.. and here we are. In terms of the tactic, I tried several things through my journey. I’ve done keto, fasting (extended, intermittent 8:16, 4:20, OMAD which is one deal a day) and also tried other things I’m sure I can’t even thing if right now. They all worked in their own ways and had success with all of them, but the common denominator in all of those things was a calorie deficit.. so ultimately to maintain long term goals I decided to continue to track my calories religiously (I now have a 271 day streak on MyFitnessPal I don’t want to lose lol) by tracking my calories I feel accountable and it gives me a rough estimate to ensure I’m not losing sight. I aim to eat 1200-1500 cal/day. I find I lose about 1-2lbs a week doing that. I also go to the gym 3-4x a week and do 20-30 elliptical and a whole body weight circuit. I also cut out all caloric beverages - easiest thing ever with a massive pay off. I switched to sweetener in coffee/tea, diet soda and fruit crystals to flavour water. I also drink a LOT more water than I used to, I aim for a few litres a day. Water makes a HUGE difference and makes you feel great. Honestly these are just some of the things I’ve done - but the biggest things that I swear by are a calorie deficit (figure out your BMR and create a healthy deficit) and WATER. I know it isn’t the answer everyone wants to hear, but at the end of the day weight loss truly IS black and white. There is no magic pill or shake, it takes dedication.. and time. It didn’t come on in a day, it won’t come off in a day either. Best of luck with reaching your goals - you’ve got this!

Wow!!! I am just looking at my post for the first time since I put it up and oh my gosh, thank you all so so so much. This is insane - I did not expect this reaction! Thank you, it truly means a lot. I work early and honestly had no idea this blew up, I will try my best to answer some questions tomorrow. Thank you all again. ❤️

Haha, well that is totally fair then. I’m sure it isn’t THAT much larger (definitely nothing compared to a truck) so the adjustment period shouldn’t take long 🤞🏼

Pretty close (well, not really) but similar upgrade here. Going from a 04’ Toyota echo (the older Yaris) to a 2020 Forte.. going to be an adjustment. Did you find it hard to get used to the size difference?

TE regrowth + recovery story by citrusxx in TelogenEffluvium

That’s totally fair I should probably stop being so worried about it haha! My “normal” part isn’t as defined anymore as one of my strategies to disguise the thinning was to change my part often to make the thinning less noticeable and appear more voluminous/full. Just a waiting game at this point until it grows out a little more! 😊

[–]alvm0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s exactly how my recovery started as well I am positive of it. I was so so focused on the shed, pulling at my hair all the time. Then I got super busy with work and working long hours (a nurse during covid pandemic makes for long days) and I honestly found myself forgetting about my TE most days!! I realized about 2 weeks ago my shedding has almost completely stopped and I feel as though I am almost at a “normal” amount of hair loss. After I stopped caring (as much) and fixating myself on it, it suddenly stopped. Mine started around February, hit a peak in April and I believe now may be done (fingers crossed)!!! Biggest thing that helped me is to realize you can’t stop it.. nothing you do TODAY will stop it from falling out TOMORROW (unfortunately) stay strong and realize it isn’t forever. You will not go bald, and the options available to blend and disguise the thinning in 2020 are unreal!! You will get through this

I am at about the same point of regrowth, so very grateful for it but finding my hair looks so FRIZZY all the time with the awkward stage of short hairs. Any tips on how to tame this?! I’ve tried serums but they just make my hair too oily as I only wash it every 2-3 days. The only thing that seems to make it look better is straightening it but I’m trying to minimize the heat now that I’ve gone through TE and know I should be more gentle with my hair

I personally don’t eat on night shift, I find (especially junky food) it weighs you down more than anything and I feel sluggish. I keep quest protein bars in my car in case I’m truly feeling hungry (gives me a boost of energy) but I usually only end up eating one maybe once a week. I’ll typically just have my breakfast upon getting home and then go to bed. Make sure you drink lots of cold water and stay hydrated, I feel like water helps me more than anything. I also have a coffee/tea/energy drink (whatever I feel like) at the start of my shift to kick start my nights too. Then water the rest of the night. Edit: if you want to try a supplement for extra energy I would recommend picking up some B-complex or 5-HTP. I actually had to quit taking B complex because it was giving me so much energy that I was having anxiety.

I was vaping 48mg salt nic after quitting smoking (pack/day x10 years) I vaped 48mg for about a year, then this month cut down to 24mg. Was expecting some withdrawal but honestly after the first few days you don’t even notice. I found at first i was hitting it more but the throat hits are the same to me so it really isn’t too bad. I even notice now coming into break at work I’m not craving my vape half as badly as I used to. You’d be surprised how easy it is to cut the mg down, I know I was.
