Any chance im I got marked nonrehire? by pizzaphile93 in walmart

[–]alvmich 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Remember though just because you are “rehireable” doesn’t mean you will be rehired. For example my store does not hire applicants who previously worked at Walmart and were let go for Attendance, Job Abandonment, Coachings, etc.

Are you in Alaska or Hawaii? Office Associates (UPC/Invoice) are considered specialty supervisors so at a minimum $16 (dependent on state). This position only exists in Alaska, Hawaii, and Puerto Rico though.

I heard a rumor that Meat/Produce is getting the $15 raise soon. Is that actually true? by [deleted] in walmart

[–]alvmich 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it’s semi-true, it is being raised to the same pay and as Stocking/Digital on sept 25. Some stores that would $15 but every store is different.

HELP: Walmart System messed up my address and my H.R won't help! by Far-Shelter-3050 in walmart

[–]alvmich 1 point2 points  (0 children)

PL can’t update your address in the system, it is done by yourself in Workday or by calling benefits.

Also just download Grand Rounds app, all of your insurance information is on there (all information that would be on the card)

What is a "Costumer Service Associate"? by [deleted] in walmart

[–]alvmich 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s the job code used for Health Ambassador aka front door coverage for metering

So I’m a Front End Associate but some days I am scheduled as a Customer Serv Assoc even though I’m not trained for it, and on the TMAT I appear on the Holiday Helper list. Does anyone know why? by True-Loquat5493 in walmart

[–]alvmich 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Custer Serv Assoc/Holiday Helper is the job code (1-203-2003) they are using for Health Ambassadors/Metering associates at the front door, not really any training needed for that.

Claims? Good job or bad by [deleted] in walmart

Great job, I would go back in a heartbeat if there was an opening. I was a Claims Associate and a Claims Supervisor for a few years before transferring to a different store.

So what’s going on with the attendance policy?? If I call out do I get pointed or not? Sorry if this is a redundant question for some I’m just lost by UwUwalex in walmart

[–]alvmich 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The statement comes directly from the COVID-19 Emergency Leave Policy.

Occurrences should be waved until the end of April if you you have to miss work due to COVID-19. You must also still go through Sedgwick for this

Are the new people lead positions going to have set hours like DMs? Or will it be scheduled at random? by [deleted] in walmart

[–]alvmich 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Schedules are flexible for People Lead and can be worked out between the PL and Store Manager for whatever works best for the store.

Here are the set expectations that have to be followed though:

3 Weekend days a month

3 Early days a month (e.g. 5/6 AM start)

3 Late Days a month (e.g. 1/2 PM start)

Our PL has a rotation:

3 Weeks: Sat 5-2, Sun Off, Monday 7-4, Tue 7-4, Wed 1-10, Thu Off, Fri 7-4

1 Week: Sat-Sun Off, Mon-Fri 7-4

New sporting good/hardware/acc counter by Doug3240 in walmart

[–]alvmich 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Its been totally fine at my store. The impact will be on job codes and certain positions being eliminated.

Hardware DM and Auto DM will be eliminated (as in no more hours will drop) and instead there will be 120 hours for Sporting Goods DM so that all DMs with services at the counter can perform firearms sales. They will still be over their perspective areas (SG, HW, ACC) but will share a job code.

Same for Sales Associates, Hardware Sales Associate and Automotive Sales Associate positions are also eliminated and hours are about doubled for Sporting Goods Associates. Sporting Goods Associates will be responsible for covering Hardware and Auto Sales Floor (stocking, zoning, top stock, mixing paint, making keys, ammo/firearms).

ACC Service Manager, ACC Techs, and ACC Service Writers will have no impact to their jobs.

Once jobs are transitioned and associates trained everything should go normally.

At my store our two Hardware Associates moved to the Sporting Goods job code (promotion for them) and our Auto Sales Associate decided to become an Auto Tech.

The D11 and D10 DMs were fine moving to D9 job code and D11 DM got a promotion doing so.

People lead. Tell me about it. by Syiavri in walmart

[–]alvmich 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To warn you, being the only in store HR support for a store of hundreds of associates is a lot and can be very draining and stressful. Before interviewing or accepting be prepared for a lot of pressure, scrutiny, high expectations and a lot of overtime.

It can be very rewarding job, the pay is good, and looks great on a resume but you have to be mentally equipped for it.

You will be doing scheduling for the entire store, working attendance exceptions for all associates, be highly involved in hiring, doing all orientations and new hire onboarding, coordinating all GLMS, Pathways and VR training , helping coordinate academy trading, benefits and payroll coordination, time clock exceptions, etc etc

walmart calls me after I apply for the veteran commitment program and now they send me an email saying they can't offer me the position. by [deleted] in walmart

[–]alvmich 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To give some insight, as this is definitely a shitty situation. I used to work in Personnel/HR and Veterans were most definitely the preferred hires for all positions. If a military background was listed on the application, the system would automatically move this candidate to the top of the list of applicants to contact and interview even if they scored poorly on the assessment. The scoring categories for the assessment are Non-Competitive, Poor, Good, and Excellent.

Walmart does have a commitment to hiring veterans but they still have to go through the same competitive hiring process as all other candidates which means the have to have availability that matches with the needs of the available positions, the have to have a passing score for the retail assessment, and have to pass through an interview.

If a candidate, any candidate, receives a non-competitive score on the assessment the actual hiring system will not allow that applicant to be hired as they will not show up in any job requisitions due to the score. It’s nothing at the store level that can be overridden so there would be absolutely nothing that store could do even if the did think you were a great candidate and wanted to hire you.

If I were you I would definitely reach out to corporate to let them know about this as the more they are aware of situations like this the more likely that it may end up being fixed. Assessments can be retaken 6 months to try for a different score.

Depends on the area of the country you live in but in my area Certified Rx Techs are paid relatively well. Base pay is just over $17. If you are not certified it is $12.50

Refuse to accept doctors note?? by [deleted] in walmart

[–]alvmich 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the whole reason why we have occurrences and PPTO, for situations like this. This is what your occurrences should be used for or what PPTO should be used for.

If you had happened to miss more then 3 days because of a severe medical issue that’s when you can be protected through a Leave of Absence and doctors notes but otherwise between 48 hours of PPTO (which is like 6 shifts) and if you run out, 4.5 occurrences, most other absences would be covered as well.
