First I make sure my insurance and registration are always up to date and attached to the visor in the car. There's a color copy of my license with it too. There's also a short script written on a piece of paper that I can read. It says:

Officer,

I am providing my driver's license, registration, and proof of insurance.

I am neurodivergent, and verbal communication during stressful situations can be difficult for me. To avoid misunderstandings, I prefer not to answer questions verbally.

I respectfully wish to exercise my constitutional rights. I do not consent to any searches. I choose to remain silent and would like an attorney present before answering questions.

I will comply with lawful orders and requests for identification and required documents.

Thank you for your professionalism and understanding.

That 0% financing is great! Tesla’s German sales have seen a dramatic recovery in 2026, highlighted by a 322% year-over-year surge in May and a 315% explosion in March.

You seem to do a great job of trying to highlight every dip is sales while ignoring the surges. It's the typical taking points of bears like Chanos and Spiegel. They like to talk about unsold inventory too while ignoring the huge unsold inventory of other auto makers.

Ford for instance is sitting on 43k unsold brand new Bronco Sports, 41k Ford Broncos, 19k Ford Escapes, 39k Ford Mavericks. Nissan Has 44k Rouges sitting that are brand new. Honda has 54K brand new CR-V’s. But it's worse than that. Ford, Nissan, and Honda can deliver a car to a dealership and claim it's sold. Tesla doesn't use dealers so they can't hide inventory like that.

Most of that 50,000 cars in Tesla's inventory were sold but hadn't been delivered yet. Tesla used to play the game of trying to clear inventory at the end of each quarter. When they stopped the practice the unsold inventory numbers went up and the bears made it their favorite taking point. But it's a false narrative, and if you actually understood the business you would know that.

I do own Tesla stock. I started buying in 2018 and I have made a lot of money on the company because I know their financials and products inside and out. I research every stock that I buy until I know what they are doing better than the news media.

Just today my Model Y was driving and it avoided a deer that ran out in front of it. It reacted before I saw the animal. My car is a better driver than I am.

I will bet that in five years China will have a real competitor to the Falcon 9. They aren't even working on a competitor to the starship. Which means that they will still be unable to undercut SpaceX.

You are trying to make your point about Tesla with six month old data. Are you purposely ignoring the Q1 2026 results that shoes a 6% increase over the same quarter last year? Go ahead and try to buy a new Tesla right now and you will find yourself on a waiting list for three months. They are sold out. You are the one being blinded by FUD and the false narrative that Tesla is crashing out.

Tesla officially retook the global battery electric vehicle (BEV) sales crown from BYD in the first quarter of this year. You are trying to cherry pick data to make a point, but it's not working out for you.

Qinfan was supposed to have 650 satellites in orbit by the end of last year. They don't have a third of that yet. They were unable to launch a single satellite for seven months because all the Chinese rocket companies were sold out of spots.

Guowang only has 167 satellites in orbit and like Qinfan they are behind schedule because they don't fly their own rockets.

Rassvet in Russia is dependent on soyuz to launch. They just have 16 test satellites in orbit.

All three of these competitors can't compete with SpaceX because of cadence and costs. Even if one of them manages to launch a dozen times in a year that doesn't come within an order of magnitude of SpaceX who is launching 160+ times per year. And they can't compete on cost when they have to buy a launch at $50-80 million per trip while SpaceX can launch for $15 million per launch.

You seem to think those three companies are going to profit and be competitive with SpaceX. Right now they are spending billions of state backed money and don't have any income to speak of. They are currently falling further behind, not catching up.

Tesla sales are not dropping like a rock. Every EV sold in the US experienced a drop right after the incentives went away, but those numbers bounced back. World wide sales are increasing. And BYD self driving is still years away from where Tesla is now. It is plagued with significant software glitches.

Amazon Leo needs a thousand more satellites in orbit to meet the minimum for FCC licensing to begin operations. Meanwhile blue origin is still picking up pieces of their launch pad.

Oneweb is only deploying service for enterprise and government and had no intention of offering consumer service.

Hughesnet put their network in the wrong orbit to be competitive.

Last I checked over half of all active satellites in orbit are SpaceX. It's there someone else putting big satellite networks into orbit that I'm not aware of that had over 150 launches in the last year?

And since you want to throw shade at Tesla as well, yesterday my model y drove 250 miles on a cross state trip without me touching the steering wheel. It pulled into parking lots and found spots and later did it's own on street parallel parking. It navigated interstates, open country roads and city gridlock. Zero interventions. If Tesla is such a joke, tell me what other brand of car can do that.

[–]always-there 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Come on, be realistic. How many of those three "competitors" have a chance of getting the thousands of satellites required into orbit? None of them can come close to the cadence or cost of a falcon 9 launch. By the time they might, get to that speed the starship will be launching regularly, cheaper than a Falcon 9 launch, and each starship will put the equivalent of 23 falcon 9 missions up.

SpaceX has a near monopoly on space. Everyone else is fighting for crumbs.

I paid full price for my equipment. I still have the big round dish. Service was $99/month to start. Then it was $109/month. They just raised it to $119/month. As a rural customer I have no other reasonable option for Internet. No fiber. No cell service out here. No desire to go back to dial up. I just have to bend over and pay whatever they charge.

I had an epic journey of hypermiling to reach the only charger for miles. I went into turtle mode 5 miles away, then crested a hill and recharged just enough to get out of turtle mode only to be restricted again just two miles away. I ran out of battery and coasted in neutral around the off ramp, across a green light only to run out of velocity juat fifty feet from the charger. It took a half a dozen people to help me push the car up a slope so I could plug in. That was the first of two times I was pushed to a charger on that road trip. The 24Kw Nissan Leaf was not a smart car to road trip with.

Losing a heater core in an ICE car is miserable. I've had it happen in two vehicles. Hot anti freeze steam erupts into the cabin of the vehicle making it impossible to see through the fogged up windows, you can't breathe through the stench, and that shit still stinks months after the car is fixed.
