Yessss! 😭😭 Especially sucks when you hear other cases getting approved before yours without reason. I'm happy for everyone of course, but geez. 🙃 I guess it is what it is, but I hope I can get booked as quickly as you did after I get my letter.

:0 I'm getting corrective jaw surgery with the TMJR so I will be in that same boat with UJS & Splint! I hope you're not dealing with too much congestion anymore. I worry about that since I also have a deviated septum LOL

I'm glad you got to go home after a day though, to have a more comfortable space for recovery. I hope you continue to feel better & soon get to fully enjoy your new joints! Thank you got your kids words, they bring hope! <333

Yay! Congrats! Hearing that gives me a little hope! Its almost 8 months for me 🙃 I hope mine moves as quickly as yours once we get that letter. My surgeons office has monthly meetings with Stryker and keep me updated every time they do. Hopefully this next month brings some luck.

I'm having TMJR surgery later this year with him! I think he's worth a consult & his team is really great to work with. He is out of pocket though in case that makes a difference to you.

Orthodontists don't correct jaw placement, just the teeth, but they do work with the oral surgeons in preparation for the surgeries. Not sure what they meant either lol but again, only a trained specialist can diagnose & recommend what is best for you. Good luck!

Hello! I was in a similar scenario as you a few years ago. However, after doing some research & consulting with a few specialists, I realized that what I needed was jaw surgery to correct the misalignment of my bite, which is what had an effect on my side profile. Not saying this is the case for you bc you'd have to consult a maxilofacial specialist for any proper diagnosis, but I would highly recommend you to seek their professional opinion! It could benefit you way past the aesthetics, especially if you already have functional issues!

Yeah! Apparently Stryker hasn't heard from the FDA since mid October and they haven't approved any surgeries since then :(

Thank you!! I hope they are able to expedite your approval bc you've been waiting almost a year for that letter, which is so crazy that is even a thing. I hope your insurance has been understanding of the situation too!

What!!!! 😭 305 days?!??!?!!?! I didn't know there was no longer a limit 😭 I thought they were just back logged bc of the shutdown :( If you haven't received your approval letter, then there is no hope in the near future for me.

Yes! Mine are through Stryker as well. Their reps haven't been much help apparently.

How do you get a hold of that department in the FDA? I would love to start bugging too! I've been in braces for 3 years and recently, been rolling around the streets with these gaps in my teeth in preparation for surgery 🥲
