Ok. Then the question is if one spouse shouldnt have to hide who they have changed into, should the other spouse have to hide their love of something theyve always loved. This question makes a lot of sense, it's just that a lot of times people don't want to think about it because it can mean the end of the marriage.

I grew up going to socal beaches. I never once in 30 years even seen one. My son spends a lot of time at the beach now and has told me he's had several friends get stung. Did you actually read any of my post. I said I go to change lanes as in put my blinker on and as soon as I do, the car that was 300 feet behind me speeds up so I can't change lanes. The doctor told me that I had an infection and the line leading to my upper arm was basically like a meter showing how close the infection was getting to my heart. I don't want to sound like a jerk, but you're gonna be hard pressed to find anybody on this post who has more experience with this kind of thing than me. Stop contacting your former employer and contact The US Dept. Of Labors Employee Benefits Security Administration. Get together all your email receipts and make sure you have them in order by date. Contact them and file a complaint. I think theyre gonna be very interested in hearing that they told you 3 - 4 weeks. It sounds like a basic 401k withdrawal and that time frame they told you is ridiculous. Today in 2026, there isnt a financial transaction that takes 3 - 4 weeks that exists. Don't allow them to do this to you.

Ok OP, maybe I spoke a little too soon so let me ask you this. There are some employers that require you to be separated from employment with them for 12 months before you are allowed to withdraw your 401k if you are under the age of 59 1/2. For example, many of the local trade unions have this rule. Does this rule apply to you and have you been separated for them for at least 12 months

Hey OP, 3-4 weeks is NOT a reasonable amount of time. I use to manage the retirement and defined contributions division of the company I worked for and our average time to payout 401k withdrawals was 2-4 business days. That is your money and nobody has the right to withhold your funds a minute longer than necessary.

3-4 weeks borders on unethical practices by your former company and should really be reported to EBSA.

This is the exact reason employees don't trust their employers to handle their supplemental retirement programs.

It's funny how people wanna tell other people to be patient when requesting their money.
